Last month we hosted a get-together at our home. We had several friends and family members over for a backyard barbecue, pool party and outdoor games. We served hamburgers, hot dogs and all kinds of your classic picnic foods. It was a beautiful day spent with family and friends.
My one friend brought 3 boxes of the Ball Aluminum Recyclable Cold-Drink Cups to the party. I had seen them out in the retail marketplace but had never tried them. They come in a classic design but throughout the year you can find them in limited edition designs to go along with the season or holiday. Available in 9 oz., 12 oz, 16 oz., and 20 oz. sizes. We used the 12 oz. size that day.
One of the cool features is that you can use a permanent marker to add a person’s name or a greeting to the outside of the cup. I think it’s great you can personalize them!!! Next, they’re 100% recyclable. You just toss them into the recycle bin once you’re finished with them along with your aluminum beverage cans. They’re light-weight and sturdy. They held up all day long!
Here’s something you should know. They’re not dishwasher safe! They’re meant to be a one-time use product but if you wanted to hand-wash them you can certainly do that. You only want to use them with cold beverages, no hot beverages.
Most people attending our backyard barbecue hadn’t tried them either so we were all pleasantly surprised at how well they held up throughout the day. They helped to keep our beverages colder for a longer period of time. They fit comfortably in your hand. Write your name or the names of your guests on each cup and there will be no mix-ups throughout the day. A win-win for everyone!
I liked these Ball Aluminum Cups so much that I went out and purchased 4 boxes of them! I have 2 boxes in our pantry for when we’re entertaining and 2 boxes are in our RV travel trailer for when we’re camping & traveling. I think they’re a must-have for those who enjoy the RV life and camping.

Let me introduce you to the Turbo Trusser for Chicken that is proudly made in the U.S.A. This trusser will truss any chicken within seconds. Did I say seconds? Yes, I did! It took my husband less than 15 seconds to get the chicken ready to go into the oven for roasting. Why should you use one? It helps the bird to cook more evenly and it helps to keep the juices in…juicer meat!
The Turbo Trusser attaches to the wings and legs of a chicken or similar sized bird and can be used on a rotisserie, grill, smoker, in the oven, an air fryer, or deep fryer for a juicier, more flavorful chicken or turkey every time. It’s made of stainless steel and is dishwasher safe for easy post-cooking clean up.
It requires 3 steps to truss the chicken: 1. Hook the Legs 2. Hook the wings 3. Cook! That’s it!!!
We roasted the whole chicken at 350 degrees F. for 2 hours and 40 minutes. As you can see from my before and after photos the Turbo Trusser kept the bird firmly trussed up. It wasn’t falling apart during the roasting process. By it staying trussed the meat was juicer and not dry. Poultry can get very dry no matter how you cook it but this chicken was one of the juiciest we’ve had.
Regarding clean-up. After removing the Turbo Trusser from the chicken I rinsed it under running tap water to just get the “meat” off of it. I then tossed it into the dishwasher. It came out sparking clean. I have a plastic storage box on a shelf in our pantry where my husband stores all of his roasting and grilling tools. The Turbo Trusser fits nicely into it and takes up hardly any storage space. It would easily fit into a utensil drawer too.
