A couple of years ago I purchased the Cuisinart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker. We use that machine 2-3 times a week to make homemade ice cream. To be honest with you, we RARELY buy store-bought ice cream! We prefer making our own and let me tell you…NOTHING beats homemade ice cream!

This machine is modern. You don’t use salt, hand cranking, and all of that stuff from the old days. It runs on electric and makes it so easy to make your own ice cream! For the best results you want to use pure and fresh ingredients. Some of our favorite homemade ice cream flavors that we’ve made using the machine include: Strawberry, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Vanilla, Cheesecake, Blueberry, Raspberry and Banana. Your only limited by your imagination.
The machine doesn’t take up a lot of space. I like to store mine on a shelf in our pantry. It’s easy to use and very easy to keep clean. Basically, you freeze the bowl container that comes along with the machine. Then…you dump the recipe ingredients into the frozen bowl. Place it onto the machine and turn it on. In most cases…you’ll have freshly made ice cream in 15-25 minutes!
It comes with a nice Cuisinart Recipe Booklet with easy to understand & read directions along with recipes to make several different flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet and frozen desserts. They also include recipes for caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and raspberry sauce so you can make homemade sundaes too!

We love fresh pineapple but they can be difficult to peel, core and slice with a chef knife. As we age it becomes even more difficult to get that task done. So, I decided to go shopping for a new Pineapple Peeler, Corer and Slicer. The first one that I purchased was complete junk so I returned it a week later. The second one though…is fantastic! It’s the best one that I’ve ever used.

I purchased the SameTech Stainless Steel Pineapple Peeler, Corer and Slicer from Amazon. This one easy-to-use kitchen tool will easily peel, corer, slice and if desired…cut the pineapple into wedges. All you need to do is cut the crown off of the pineapple (about an inch) and then twist the tool down through the center. The core goes into the tool and at the same time it’s removing the peel and slicing the fruit into the perfect sized rings!
What’s really nice is that it also comes with an easy-to-use wedger, so if you want pineapple wedges you use that tool to easily do that. As an added bonus…it’s made of stainless steel so for clean-up you can toss it into the dishwasher for cleaning or hand wash and air dry. I placed it into the utensils rack in the dishwasher and it came out sparkling clean. It’s a must-have if you enjoy freshly cut pineapple!
