Get motivated to keep an area organized by making a change you’re happy about. Paint your closet, add a new rug to your bathroom, put a new fixture up in your kitchen, add a skylight to your bathroom (like the ones at custom skylights in Sydney), etc. You’ll want to keep the integrity of your updated space.
1. Get rid of cardboard boxes. They attract roaches! Break them down and ditch them after moving day. Plastic bugs from the grocery store attracts bugs due to the food smells & spillage. Dispose of them, don’t keep them around.
2. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect, but there should be a place for everything. You may even have a junk drawer or two, which is fine! So long as your junk drawers don’t continue to expand and then prevent you from finding necessities when you need them, don’t sweat it.
3. How do you know if you’re organized? You’re organized if you can prep for unexpected company in under thirty minutes.
4. Label and organize your photos and other keepsakes. Your kids will be happy when they get older that they can understand the significance of items you’ve kept through the years.

6. Use the same hangers in your closet. Not only will they look nicer, but your clothing will be easier to find because everything will be at the same height and spaced out perfectly.

Along with the gardening skills comes canning. Being able to put up some of your harvest to carry you through the fall and winter months will have save a bundle. It is not hard to learn, plus it makes awesome gifts too!
Become a Baker
I am not a good baker although I have not tried much. My hubby is a great baker and uses that as therapy. Becoming a good baker means a big savings on breads, rolls, dessert items and so many people can make money on it too! Worth the effort if you love baked goods!
Learning to Sew
I remember having to learn to sew in school and while my mom was an excellent sewer, I was not. I am good with a needle and can do hand sewing very well. But today, I wish I knew how to sew well. There are so many projects I would do… Some day, I say! The savings is big when you can sew well.
