A women’s work is never done and with that comes a lot of body aches and pains.

Relieve Aches and Pains with a Heating Pad

Last month I needed a new heating pad and purchased an electric heating pad with automatic shutoff from Amazon. This particular one comes in various colors (including prints) and sizes. I got the gray color that measures 12″ by 24″ in size. It can be used for moist or dry heat. I prefer dry but when my 15 year old daughter uses it for menstrual cramps relief she likes it moist.

One of the really nice things about this heating pad is that it’s machine washable. Hang or air dry. All you need to do is detach the electrical cord from the pad and toss it into the washing machine. I washed it on the gentle cycle. No bleach and no fabric softener. Just use a mild detergent. Since the weather has been nice, I hung it outside on the clothesline to dry.

It’s very easy to operate. You can set the heat setting to the one that you prefer. There’s a timer feature that you can set to have it auto shut off or it will automatically shut off after 2 hours. It heats up fast and that attached cover feels soft against your skin. When using it, I don’t feel the heating cords or heating element inside…so it’s confortable to use. It’s light-weight and flexible, so feel free to wrap it around your arm, leg, knee, etc.

Where did I purchase it? I bought the Electric Heating Pad with Auto Shut Off from Amazon for a great price! I saw something similar at my local pharmacy store and they wanted $49.99 and it didn’t look as nice! Every home should have a heating pad because you never know when you’ll need one. Furthermore, if it has been years since you used one or bought one, it’s time to upgrade. The modern units have better safety features compared to heating pads made 10-20 years ago. Just saying!!!

Large Auto-Shutoff Body Heating Pad for Dry or Moist Heat

Large Auto-Shutoff Body Heating Pad for Dry or Moist Heat

I’m over 62 years old and still working a full-time demanding job. Let’s face it, at my age I have all kinds of aches and pains. A few months ago I started using a heating pad for pain relief. One thing that I learned is that they’re not all created equal. To be honest with you, I feel you should avoid the ones with removeable covers and ones that don’t have an auto-shutoff feature. You don’t need burns!

Large Auto-Shutoff Body Heating Pad for Dry or Moist Heat

I was really discouraged by the quality of heating pads that I had purchased up until 2 weeks ago. I purchased a Large Auto-Shutoff Body Heating Pad that provides moist or dry heat from Amazon. It’s the best (so far) that I’ve personally tried. I love the size of it and you can disconnect it from the power source to toss into your washer for cleaning. You should be cleaning them often to keep germs at bay.

Another thing I like about it is the 2 hours auto-shutoff feature. If I fall asleep or leave my home without turning it off, it will turn itself off! There are 3 power settings – low, medium and high. I’ve found that the low and medium settings are perfect for me. Another great feature is that it heats up in 20 seconds. That’s right, 20 seconds! You don’t have to wait 10 minutes for it to warm up.

It’s flexible so you can use it all over your body. Lay it on your back or abdomen. Wrap it around your thigh, knee or upper arm. You can even drape it over the shoulder to give targeted relief. The fabrication on both sides of the heating pad is made out of a plush, super-soft material. I find myself using it several times a week.

Even if you’re not currently using a heating pad every home should have one. You never know when you’ll need one and the last thing you want to do when you’re in pain is run out trying to find one. This one is by far…the best that I’ve personally tried so far. If you’re looking for a new heating pad…give this one a try.
