A few weeks ago I shared with all of you some fun frugal finds that I found at Big Lots by shopping for next year’s Halloween decor 3 days after the holiday. I had scooped up some awesome deals and now I have all of those items packed away in my attic for next year.
Guess what? I scored at Big Lots again! I love shopping there for great deals on home & garden items, after-holiday items and so forth. I think their prices are primarily terrible on food, beverages & canned goods though because I can pick that stuff up at my grocery store with coupons, cheaper…so I typically avoid those. Plus, those same items can be found at discount grocery stores like Aldi’s for even less.
With that said…I had spied a beautiful ceramic Thanksgiving Turkey two weeks before Thanksgiving. I fell in-love with it but I wasn’t willing to pay $12.00 each to get one. Nope, I’m more frugal than that! Furthermore, I really liked these stuffed pumpkin and squash’s that they had that were made out of burlap, but I wasn’t willing to pay $10.00 each for those.
Anyway, I took a chance and headed over to Big Lots this past Saturday and guess what I found? Yup….the goodies that I wanted and now they were on clearance!

I got the beautiful ceramic Thanksgiving Turkey which was originally priced at $12.00 for only $3.00 each and I picked up two! They’re going to look beautiful on my holiday table next year or perhaps I will place them on the fireplace mantel. Not sure yet!
They were out of the burlap harvest pumpkins but they still had one left of the squash, so I picked that up too. It was originally $10.00 and I got it for only $2.00. Wow!
If I had picked up all three of these items 2 1/2 weeks ago when I was at Big Lots…I would of paid $34.00 but instead…I waited and nabbed them on clearance and got all three for only $8.00. Oh and my picture doesn’t do them any justice! That turkey is about 5″ tall and about 10″ long and that squash is about 7″ tall. They are NOT miniatures at all.
Wow…now that’s what I call BARGAIN SHOPPING and getting a great deal! If they would of had more of those burlap pumpkins and squash…I would of picked up even more. Other than that, they were pretty wiped out on all of their Thanksgiving home decor.
