Frugal Finds: Graphic Tees at Kohl’s

Frugal Finds: Graphic Tees at Kohl’s

Like most women, I love to shop but I’m a frugal shopper. When I hit the stores to shop…the first thing I check out is the clearance racks. How about you? I have to admit, I rarely pay full price for anything these days and

Frugal Finds – After Christmas Bargain Deals

I love going out after the holidays and looking for special deals. When I talk about special deals…I’m not talking about 10% or 20% off. Nope, when I go bargain shopping…I’m looking to save at least 50% off the normal retail price. One of my

Frugal Finds: After Thanksgiving Deals

Frugal Finds: After Thanksgiving Deals

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsA few weeks ago I shared with all of you some fun frugal finds that I found at Big Lots by shopping for next year’s Halloween decor 3 days after the holiday. I had scooped up some awesome deals and now I have all of those items packed away in my attic for next year.

Guess what? I scored at Big Lots again! I love shopping there for great deals on home & garden items, after-holiday items and so forth. I think their prices are primarily terrible on food, beverages & canned goods though because I can pick that stuff up at my grocery store with coupons, cheaper…so I typically avoid those. Plus, those same items can be found at discount grocery stores like Aldi’s for even less.

With that said…I had spied a beautiful ceramic Thanksgiving Turkey two weeks before Thanksgiving. I fell in-love with it but I wasn’t willing to pay $12.00 each to get one. Nope, I’m more frugal than that! Furthermore, I really liked these stuffed pumpkin and squash’s that they had that were made out of burlap, but I wasn’t willing to pay $10.00 each for those.

Anyway, I took a chance and headed over to Big Lots this past Saturday and guess what I found? Yup….the goodies that I wanted and now they were on clearance!

Thanksgiving Home Decor

I got the beautiful ceramic Thanksgiving Turkey which was originally priced at $12.00 for only $3.00 each and I picked up two! They’re going to look beautiful on my holiday table next year or perhaps I will place them on the fireplace mantel. Not sure yet!

They were out of the burlap harvest pumpkins but they still had one left of the squash, so I picked that up too. It was originally $10.00  and I got it for only $2.00. Wow!

If I had picked up all three of these items 2 1/2 weeks ago when I was at Big Lots…I would of paid $34.00 but instead…I waited and nabbed them on clearance and got all three for only $8.00. Oh and my picture doesn’t do them any justice! That turkey is about 5″ tall and about 10″ long and that squash is about 7″ tall. They are NOT miniatures at all.

Wow…now that’s what I call BARGAIN SHOPPING and getting a great deal! If they would of had more of those burlap pumpkins and squash…I would of picked up even more. Other than that, they were pretty wiped out on all of their Thanksgiving home decor.

Frugal Finds: Oversized Patio and Deck Umbrella

End of summer is a fabulous time to find some frugal finds, especially when it comes to outdoor and gardening goods. I have a rather small backyard and most of it is taken up by the pool so needless to say it can be difficult to shade it the way I want to for comfortable and enjyaing relaxing.

I have been eyeing one of the big offset patio umbrella’s for the past few years and since they retail for about $500, I never was able to find one that I could grab on clearance, until this year. I was able to snag one of these babies last week at the big clearance at Sears. Out the door – $140 or so!

Oversized Patio and Deck Umbrella

This umbrella offers almost 12 feet of protection and I love that it is adjustable and movable. The place I have it is actually a temporary place as I have a big tree that is going to come out in a few weeks and then the umbrella is going to become my shade for the BBQ and living room window. YAY!

I am super excited about my umbrella and especially since I got it at a huge savings!
