Coastal Beach Wall-Art Collage Photo Frames

Coastal Beach Wall-Art Collage Photo Frames

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsOne a month I like to get together with a few of my girlfriends and go out for some fun bargain shopping. After spending a few hours shopping, we will enjoy a late lunch or early dinner together. I enjoy spending time with my girlfriends and I’m glad that we do it almost every month!

As you all know, I decorate my home in a beach and coastal theme. While I like “nautical”, I’m really drawn more to the beach and coastal cottage decor. Usually when I buy things for my home…I do it while on vacation, as its often times hard to find those type’s of items in central Pennsylvania. Sadly, most homes around here are decorated in a country or Amish-style. Bleck!

Coastal Wall Art Collage Photo Frame

Last week I was out shopping (locally) with my friends and I came across a big clearance sale on last summer’s home decor items. They had 1/3 of their aisle stacked full of items that they had found in the warehouse. They marked everything down to bargain prices to clear the items out. The clerk told me that they needed to make room quickly for the new items this year.

I stumbled upon this beautiful Coastal Wall Art Collage Photo Frame and just had to have it! There are 4 built-in photo frames and 4 built-in shadow-box style cubby holes. I took a slew of photos of the family while on vacation down at the beach house a few months ago and I’m going to get copies of 4 of those photos and place them into the frame. Once I get it completed and hung up on the wall in our dining room, I’ll update this post with a better photograph. This collage photo frame is beautiful and extremely well-made. I was able to purchase it for ONLY $10.00 which is a great deal!

Pretty Framed Beach Seashell Wall Art

At that same store I found 3 coastal & beach wall art prints that were framed in these icky black plastic frames. Ewwww! With that said, the prints are beautiful. I’m going to either re-frame them into prettier frames or perhaps paint their current frames with some aqua-metallic paint. I haven’t decided just yet, but I will be doing something with them to make them pretty! I got each one on clearance for $1.00 each! I’ll show you an updated picture on what I eventually did with them within a couple of weeks.

I was pretty excited to find some new coastal and beach wall decor on my recent shopping trip, especially at bargain basement prices. Have you found any bargains and deals lately? If so, what did you get?

Frugal Finds – Storage Bins for the Kitchen and Pantry

Frugal Finds – Storage Bins for the Kitchen and Pantry

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsOver the past few weeks I’ve been working on giving my kitchen a good “deep cleaning”, down-sizing my kitchen goodies and then re-organizing everything that I decided to keep. At first I thought this project would just take me a few hours on a weekend, but it’s turned out to be a three week ordeal. Sigh.

Anyway…My kitchen is decorated in beach and coastal decor. I just love anything and everything to do with the beach! I went through all of my plastic storage containers, canning equipment and cookbooks last weekend and downsized them by 70%. What I didn’t want, I gave away and some things I donated to Goodwill. It’s amazing how much stuff I was hoarding in my kitchen that I really didn’t need!

I headed to my local A.C. Moore’s store to look for some baskets and/or storage bins as I had some things I wanted to get organized. While browsing around, I found these “coastal design” storage bins on sale for 60% off. That brought each one down to around $5.50 a piece and I really love the look of them. I purchased four of them and brought them home.

Coastal Beach Storage Bins for the Home

One of the storage bins is holding my plastic containers and lids that I use for leftovers in my refrigerator/freezer. Another bin is holding some extra kitchen linens and a third is holding some bulky kitchen utensils and tools. I placed those three bins on a shelf in my pantry closet. The fourth bin (shown in the photograph) is now being used to hold about a dozen cookbooks that I frequently use. I put it on a shelf on my microwave cart, so now my everyday cookbooks are neatly organized and within easy reach.

For $5.50 each, these storage bins are really nice! They have rigid sides and a rigid bottom. They are then covered in a tan canvas material and the stamped beach design is on the front (seashell design). Each of the sides have a metal ring handle. They’re the perfect “medium size” to hold all kinds of things. I’m going to go back and see if they have a few more. I could certainly fill them up with additional goodies, to keep things neatly stored in my pantry closet. Plus, I think they look a whole lot nicer than plastic storage containers! Yay me!

So, did you find any new clearance deals, bargains, flea market finds, etc. this past week? If so, tell me about them! I love a good deal!
