Frugal Finds – After Christmas Holiday Bargain Deals

Frugal Finds – After Christmas Holiday Bargain Deals

I finally ventured out over the weekend for some after Christmas bargain hunting. I don’t go out immediately after the holiday as the stores are just too crowded for me and right now…I like to AVOID the crowds. Over the weekend I headed into Dollar

Frugal Finds – Bargain Deals on Over-Sized Throw Blankets

I’m a bargain shopper and I love going out to find bargain deals after a major holiday…like Christmas! I don’t hit the stores 1-3 days after Christmas (they’re too nuts for me), so I go a few days later. Yes, you can still find deals

Frugal Finds – Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mixes

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsTime for another bargain shopping and frugal finds post! Two weeks ago I went to one of my favorite discount bargain stores called Gabe’s. They sell mostly apparel, home decor, seasonal items, footwear, etc. My store has a VERY small shelf-stable food section. I rarely even go into that section because it’s that small.

Anyway, I had a few minutes to spare (while a clerk did a price check for me) and went down that small aisle. To my surpise I found packages of Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mixes on final clearance for .59 cents each. I’ve purchased them before at Dollar Tree (same size package and brand) for $1.25 each, so I knew these were a steal of a deal.

I checked over the packages and all were still in-date with an expiration date of Spring 2023. There was no damage to the packages at all. Okay, I’m sold. I picked up 3 for my pantry, 2 for my daughter’s pantry and 2 for my mother’s pantry. Each package makes 12 cookies and I LOVE that .59 cent per package price tag! Yeah baby!

The next thing that I spotted were paper cupcake liners or muffin liners as some people call them. They had them in Christmas and holiday prints. You get 75 liners in the package. I picked out the Santa design as I thought they were cute. Price for 75 liners was .99 cents. Yes, I’ll take that too!

So, what kind of frugal finds or bargains have you shopped for lately?

Frugal Finds – Hitting the Flea Market for Coastal Front Porch Decor

Frugal Finds – Hitting the Flea Market for Coastal Front Porch Decor

Last month we drove 40 minutes to visit a Flea Market that we hadn’t been to in years! It’s one of the largest ones in our area and is always crowded. I’m not big on being mingled in with large crowds and spending an hour

Frugal Finds – Pottery Houseplant Gardening Planters

Gardening…it’s one of my spring and summer passions. I enjoy planting flower and veggie gardens outside and indoors I grow about 35 houseplants. I wouldn’t say that I have a “green thumb” but I do have moderate gardening experience. During this time of the year

Fun, Frugal Finds – Bargain Deals on Kitchen Linens

Fun, Frugal Finds – Bargain Deals on Kitchen Linens

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsFun, Frugal Finds is all about those great bargains and deals that I stumble across when I’m out shopping. These bargains can be items I’ve purchased from yard sales, antique stores, retail stores, flea markets, mom and pop shops, farmer’s markets, etc. I’m always shopping for deals.

A few weeks ago I walked into a national chain “home type of store” and came across a clearance bin that was stacked full of brand new kitchen linens. These were first-quality items like hand towels, dish cloths, place mats, napkins, table runners, oven mitts, hot pads, etc.

I’m always looking for new kitchen linens and buying them. Why? I’m into home canning, freezing, baking, cooking, etc. and I’m always putting my linens through a workout. I can ruin an entire pack of tea towels in less than a month. Yup, I’m hard on my kitchen linens.

Anyway, I was digging around in the clearance bin and found 100% cotton, over-sized kitchen hand towels on clearance for $3.50 and you got 3 of them in a pack. They’re a nice thickness and really well-made. I picked up 2 packages so I got 6 new kitchen towels for $7.00. Wow. Nice!!!

I continued digging in the bin and came across packs of 100% cotton dish clothes that were packaged 4 dish cloths to a pack. They were on clearance for $3.00 per pack! They were made by the same “name brand” company as the towels but the stripe was in a different color. I purchased two packs of those, so I got 8 dish cloths for $6.00. Again, really nice quality.

After I left that store I stopped in to the Farmer’s Market (it’s an indoor market) to pick up an order. This particular farmer’s market has 12 other vendors inside it. Some sell other type’s of food and a few are craft vendors. I was walking by the one vendor and spotted a coastal/beach themed kitchen towel that she had croheted a hanging loop on the top. It’s so you can hang it up in your kitchen. She only had this one coastal design and it was marked down to $3.00. Well, shucks…I purchased that too! I couldn’t resist.

Have you been out shopping lately? Have you come across any good bargains or deals? If so, what did you buy? I would love to hear about your great finds.

Trash to Treasure – New Lighthouse Yard and Garden Art

A few months ago a friend of mine gifted me her old wooden lighthouse that holds toilet paper and facial tissues. She had changed the decor in her bathroom and new I decorated in a coastal cottage style. Instead of tossing it into the trash,
