Fit as a Pro with Lauren Sesselmann Fitness DVD

As a child/teen, I was always in sports and it was amazing. It felt great to be a part of a team, working together to achieve wonderful things. Also, it was awesome to see how far I could push myself to be successful to help win. I was in soccer for about eight years so I have always had a love for the game and for athletics in general. One of my favorite things was how healthy and fit I was during the time I was involved in sports. Now, as an adult, I have had that missing from my life. So when I saw that I was able to review the Fit As A Pro DVD (with Lauren Sesselmann, Olympic Medalist), I was thrilled.
Fit as a Pro Fitness DVD with Lauren Sesselmann
Fit As A Pro is excellent because it has FIVE workouts that are only TEN minutes each! This DVD is also meant for places with small spaces. No equipment is needed, but you still get a full-body workout! The ten minutes workout just fly by, but the workout is effective. I could definitely feel it. It has only been a couple of days of use, so of course, like anything, I don’t expect immediate results. But I do get a full-body workout. I even have gotten sore the morning after a workout.

Fit As A Pro does just what it says. I workout in my very small bedroom, and I can do all the movements. Plus, with no equipment needed, other than just a chair and a pillow, and I I didn’t need to worry about purchasing more things… I was ready to go once I pressed ‘Play’ on the DVD player! What is another great thing is that there are modifications for almost all the movements, so the DVD is a great workout for all fitness levels, so anyone can be as ‘Fit As A Pro”!

Lauren is impressive. She has played soccer for the Canadian National Team, and in women’s professional soccer leagues in the USA. She was awarded at the London Summer Olympics. She then was inspired to share her techniques to help everyone meet their fitness goals. It gives me further motivation, I think, to push hard knowing that she is a professional athlete as well as an Olympic medalist.

Staying fit on the go. no matter if at home or traveling, it can be done with this DVD. It’s fast paced, a bit of hard work, but very fun. Very worth it in my opinion to look HALF as good an Olympic athlete. Who wouldn’t want to be as ‘Fit As A Pro’?

5 Ways to Stay Hydrated in the HOT Summer Heat

5 Ways to Stay Hydrated in the HOT Summer Heat

When we are laughing and playing in the sun we don’t think of much else. But, even if you don’t think about anything else, remember that keeping up your fluid intake is important. The summer months are a time to get outdoors and breathe the fresh air and have a bit of fun. But, some people don’t pay attention to the heat when it is warm, especially children. We have to do that for them.

In the heat, we need to be diligent in watching what we drink so we do not get dehydrated. There are many heat-related deaths each year. And, it’s not only the elderly and children that have to be careful. Anyone can be affected by too much heat and too little fluids. So, if you need to be outside, remember to keep some form of hydration close at hand and available at all times for the kids. Check out these easy tips.

Five Ways to Stay Hydrated in Warm Weather

1. Drink water before, during and after a workout – When the weather gets warm, you’ll lose even more fluid through sweat during a workout, indoors or out. Drink at least two or three glasses of water before a workout and eight ounces for each 15 minutes that you exercise. Afterwards, recharge those cells with another glass or two of water. It quenches your thirst like no other drink. Another way of staying hydrated is an electrolyte supplement. These are great if you’re someone who struggles and forgets to drink water.

2. Eat fresh fruit – Fruit has high water content. It is one way to increase your intake of fluids, especially if you don’t like drinking a lot of water. For a treat, freeze a fruit, like grapes, and then munch on them as a cooler when hanging out outdoors.

3. Avoid drinks that steal water from your body – One thing to avoid is drinking caffeine and alcohol. Both can dehydrate your body. If you want something more than water, try using drink mix sticks or lemon and a sprig of mint.

4. Have a sports drink after heavy prolonged exercise – The body doesn’t just lose water but also electrolytes. Too much heat without replenishment of sodium and potassium can lead to an electrolyte imbalance in the tissues, which is serious. Choose a drink that is low on sugar but high in the electrolytes that you need. Electrolytes supplement after exercise will encourage a speedy rest and recovery period.

5. Drink throughout the day – Even if you are not participating in organized activity, you are still moving around outdoors so the heat can affect you. Keep a bottle of water with you at all times. It can also help you eat less. Most of the time when we eat, it is not actually hunger but thirst that we suffer from.

Water is important to every living thing and that includes you. During warm weather, stay hydrated for a long healthy summer. After all, staying hydrated in the heat is essential for maintaining your health and well-being, especially during the hottest months of the year. By incorporating simple habits like drinking plenty of water, eating water-rich foods, and avoiding excessive caffeine or alcohol, you can keep your body cool and energized. Remember, hydration isn’t just about quenching your thirst—it’s about supporting your overall health. Stay mindful of your fluid intake, listen to your body’s needs, and enjoy the sunshine safely!
