Easy Exercises During the Summer Heat

When it is blasting hot outside the last thing we want to think about is exercising. I know that is true for me. But when you realize that excuse time is over and you know you need to get up and move around, there are

Tips for Exercising in the Summer Heat

When it comes to health and wellness, we all know that exercise and diet together is the way to a healthy body and mind. But when it is blistering hot out, I know that exercising is the last thing I want to do. But falling off track is not an option either so the only option is modifying your routine. Here are some tips you can use to exercise safely in the summer heat.

Tips for Exercising in the Summer Heat

* Mornings and Evenings Are Your Friend – Try and exercise early in the day or later at night to beat the heat of the day. Excessive heat can make you ill!

* Protect Your Skin – Even though you may be outside in the early morning or evening, find a natural mineral sunscreen that will help protect your skin. Don’t forget about bugs too! Perspiration can increase your bug attraction!

* Dress for the Weather – Look for pieces that will wick away moisture and are comfortable enough to not chafe when perspiring. Including a hat and even a cooling neck wrap or towel will help your comfort level.

* Wear Broken in Comfortable Shoes – I find that I tend to get more blisters when my shoes fit improperly and my feet perspire more. Make sure to break in your shoes before working out in hot weather so you know they will not chafe or rub.

* Stay Hydrated – This almost goes without saying but make sure to drink several glasses of water before exercising and carry a large bottle with you while exercising. The heat will dehydrate you quickly before you even realize it. Here are some additional tips on hydration

* Warm Up and Cool Down – Take the time to do some light stretching before and after working out. Even if you do not feel you need to warm up, your tendons and muscles are tight and a warm up and cool down does help.

* Know Your Limits – It does not take much to get overheated. Listen to your body and if you start to feel sick or stop sweating, you are overheating. Stop exercising and get to a cool place and drink plenty of fluids. Here are some Summer Safety Tips that will help you identify the signs along with some other tips for summer safety.

Exercising in the summer can be safe as long as you are prepared and follow some safety tips. Hope these help you stay motivated through the hottest part of the year. Share your tips you may use.

Outdoor Exercise Tips for Cold and Wet Weather

Dance Off the Inches Hip Hop Jam DVD with Toning Loop

I love to dance but I don’t think I am that great at it. Mainly because I cannot see myself dance. The new exercise dvd that I got to review is very cool in that it helps break down dance steps and add them into a workout routine that will help blast off the inches. Check out this new Dance Off the Inches with Jennifer Galardi dvd.

Dance Off the Inches Hip Hop Jam DVD
Overview
Getting Fit Doesn’t Have To Feel Like Work.
Anyone can dance off the inches. We’ve made it easy. Ten moves are all you need to follow these routines and we’ll show you how. No matter what your age or fitness level, you can have a great time while dancing your way into great shape. You’ll want to do this workout again and again because it’s FUN and that’s the secret. The more you do it, the more inches you’ll lose. It’s that simple. Losing inches has never been so easy!

Get ready to party off the pounds and inches! We’ve got three different hip hop routines that will help you torch tons of calories as you sweat out stress. These non-stop dances are pure, fat melting cardio. They will elevate your heart rate AND your mood as you work your entire body with serious style. Whether you kick it Street Style or get into the Funk Groove you can dance your way to a fitter, firmer body with Hip Hop Jam!

BONUS: 10-Minute Booty Blaster routine to really target the glutes and all of the muscles of the thighs for a perfectly perky rear end and lean, toned legs.

My Thoughts:
This dvd is broken into 3 different sections. Since I reviewed a different dvd before by Jennifer, I knew that she breaks down each dance move one by one so you can practice each one before working on the routines. I love how she is meticulous in her description of every move, including the isolation moves on each muscle needed to complete the step properly. She is very thorough and that helps especially when you are not a great dancer or are just learning the moves.

Also included in this disc is a separate Booty Blaster workout that is great! She shows step by step and slowly each move that is created to target the glutes. This is a pretty quick workout that used the toning band and it is a workout! I love it.

Finally, you have the actual routines. I do recommend that you work on the new steps first before diving into the routine or if you don’t know a step or it is too difficult, you can just walk through it. Jennifer’s routines are fun and they really help you get a great workout while learning new moves too.

This starts with a great warm up and then it moves into 3 different routines with a relaxing cool down to finish. Jennifer is great as she talks you through every move as she is doing it so you can follow along and learn the moves. I am not very coordinated, but I was able to keep up with most of the moves.

This is a wonderful workout for those at any level of fitness. It goes slow enough that you can keep up if you are a beginner and you can really get into it at intermediate and advanced levels too.
