We have well water which contains a lot of hard minerals. Those minerals have a habit of staining our porcelain bathroom sinks, the bathtub and toilets in our home. Last week I decided to use the Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray inside one of our porcelain bathroom sinks to see if it would remove those hard water stains. Here’s how I used it.

First…rinse out the sink with clean water. Spray a little bit of the Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray directly onto the stain. Walk away and let it sit for a good 20-30 minutes. Dampen a microfiber cleaning cloth and wipe down the inside of the sink, including the stained area. I had to use minor elbow grease but no hard scrubbing was required. Rinse with clean water.

Dirty Sink Before Cleaning

I was really pleased that it removed 90% of the hard water stain around the drain, removed 100% of the dirt, make-up and grime located elsewhere within the sink. I then sprayed the faucet and handles. Used the damp microfiber cleaning cloth to wipe them down. Rinsed and then used a dry microfiber cleaning cloth to dry and shine them up. Fabulous results! Our bathroom sink looked cleaned, whiter and brighter!!!

If you’re having problems with hard water stains inside your bathroom sinks, showers, bathtubs and toilets…give the Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray a try. I’ve been using it all over the house the past few months and love the great results that I’m getting. One product can clean so much!!!

Spring Cleaning Checklist What You Need to Do

Spring Cleaning Checklist What You Need to Do

Spring Cleaning Checklist What You Need to DoSpring cleaning is more than just a seasonal chore; it’s a refreshing ritual that breathes new life into your home. As the flowers bloom and the weather warms up in Oklahoma, it’s the perfect time to roll up your sleeves and give your living space a thorough cleanse. The change in seasons brings a sense of renewal, making spring the ideal time to declutter, deep clean, and reorganize your home.

Deep Cleaning Rooms

Each room in your home requires specific attention, and focusing on one room at a time can help you stay organized and motivated.

Kitchen: The kitchen is a high-traffic area that can accumulate grime and dirt quickly. Start by cleaning your appliances inside and out. This includes wiping down the refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Don’t forget to clean behind and under these appliances as well.

Next, focus on your cabinets and countertops. Wipe down all surfaces, and clean out any crumbs or spills from cabinets. Finally, mop the floors to ensure your kitchen is spotless from top to bottom.

Bathroom: The bathroom is another area that benefits greatly from a deep clean. Scrub the tiles and grout to remove any mold or mildew. Clean the shower, tub, and toilet thoroughly. This is also a great time to inspect your bathroom for any needed upgrades.

If you’re considering renovating your bathroom, spring cleaning offers the perfect opportunity to plan and execute these updates. In OK bathroom remodel options are aplenty, with a variety of remodeling professionals to choose from, according to your specific needs and budget.

Living Room: In the living room, start by dusting and wiping down all surfaces, including shelves, tables, and electronics. Don’t forget to clean under furniture and vacuum carpets or rugs. If you have curtains, take them down and wash them, or clean your blinds if you have those instead.

Organize Storage Areas

Storage areas like closets, the garage, and the basement can quickly become dumping grounds for all sorts of items. Organizing these spaces will make your home more functional and easier to navigate.

Closets: Begin with your closets by sorting clothes by season. Store away winter clothes and bring out your spring and summer wardrobe. Use bins and organizers to keep everything neat and accessible. Label boxes so you can easily find what you need without creating a mess.

Garage and Basement: The garage and basement often hold tools, seasonal decorations, and other items that don’t have a place inside the house. Declutter these areas by getting rid of anything you no longer use. Create labeled storage areas for different types of items, such as sports equipment, gardening tools, and holiday decorations. This will make it easier to find what you need and keep everything in order.

Freshen Up Bedrooms

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary, a place where you can relax and recharge. To create a serene atmosphere, start by washing all bedding, including pillows and duvets. This not only makes your bed more inviting but also removes any allergens that may have accumulated.

Rotate your mattress to ensure even wear and vacuum it to remove dust and debris. Organize and clean under the bed, an area that often collects dust and forgotten items. By taking these steps, you’ll create a fresh and inviting bedroom that promotes restful sleep.

Clean Windows and Mirrors

Clean windows and mirrors can make a huge difference in the overall appearance of your home. For streak-free windows, use a mixture of water and vinegar or a commercial window cleaner. Wipe down all mirrors in the house, paying special attention to bathroom mirrors that can accumulate toothpaste splatters and other residues.

Outdoor Cleaning Tasks

Spring cleaning isn’t just about the inside of your home; your outdoor spaces need attention too. As the weather improves, spending time outside becomes more appealing, so make sure your outdoor areas are ready for enjoyment.

Yard and Garden: Start by preparing your yard and garden for the new season. Rake up any leaves or debris that have accumulated over the winter. Trim back overgrown bushes and trees, and consider planting new flowers or vegetables. Fresh mulch can also give your garden beds a neat, polished look.

Outdoor Furniture: After months of not being used, your outdoor furniture likely needs a good cleaning. Use a mild soap and water solution to wipe down tables, chairs, and lounges. For more stubborn dirt or mildew, a mixture of water and vinegar can be effective. Don’t forget to clean any outdoor cushions or fabric pieces, following the care instructions.

Patios and Walkways: Sweep patios and walkways to remove dirt and debris. For a deeper clean, use a pressure washer to remove stains and buildup. This can make a significant difference in the appearance of your outdoor spaces and create a welcoming environment for guests and family alike.

Final Touches

Once the major cleaning tasks are done, it’s time to focus on the final touches that will make your home feel truly refreshed and renewed.

Air Freshening: A clean home should smell as good as it looks. Use air fresheners or essential oils to add a pleasant scent to your living spaces. Citrus and lavender are popular choices that can create a calming atmosphere. Be sure to open windows and allow fresh air to circulate throughout your home.

Furniture Arrangement: Consider rearranging your furniture for a fresh look. This simple change can make a room feel new and exciting without the need for new purchases. Think about the flow of the space and try different layouts to find what works best for your needs.

Decorative Touches: Add some decorative touches to complete your spring cleaning efforts. Fresh flowers or new houseplants can bring a touch of nature indoors and improve air quality. Updating your decor with light, bright colors can also enhance the feeling of a fresh start.

Conclusion

Completing a thorough spring cleaning can be a satisfying and rewarding experience. It’s not just about having a clean home; it’s about creating a space that promotes well-being and comfort. By following this comprehensive checklist, you’ve taken significant steps to enhance your living environment
.
Maintaining this level of cleanliness and organization throughout the year may seem challenging, but with a few simple habits and routines, it can become second nature. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and take pride in your refreshed and renewed home. Spring cleaning is more than just a task—it’s an opportunity to start fresh and embrace the new season with a clean and organized space.
