How to Clean the Oven Using Natural Products

Like most women, I really dislike having to clean my oven. In years past I used to spend a few hours every month cleaning it which always stunk up my house with toxic fumes from store bought cleaners. Over the years I got a lot

Cleaning Tips to Prevent the Spread of Germs

With cold and flu season here, now is a great time to remember all of the little things that get touched that can harbor germs. Remembering to clean the little things around the house will help prevent the spread of germs. We clean our homes but often overlook those little things to clean during or after someone has been sick.

Here is a list for you to help remember the items or areas that get handled and touched a lot so you can wipe them down often to prevent illnesses in your home.

We are now into the month of October and before you know it…Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years will be here. With the Fall and Winter season…we get 3 major holidays all in a row. Some of the things I like about this new BISSELL vacuum is the PGLO lift-off pod, crevice tool and swivel steering help to clean hard-to-reach places that other vacuums can’t get. It can be used to get into corners, vacuum crumbs out of drawers, get around those baseboards, underneath the furniture, around those ceiling fixtures and how about vacuuming out that cabinet underneath the kitchen sink? We have some small closets and some huge walk-in closets and I bet that vacuum could help me get those cleaned up too!

Today I wanted to share with all of you some of my favorite cleaning tips, so let’s get this cleaning party started…shall we? We shall!

1. When cleaning your house it is important to focus on one room at a time. Go into that room and make a list of everything you want to do in it. This includes cleaning particular items, removing items, freshing up the room with some new decor and so forth. Then make a separate list for each room in your home.

2. Pick one room and start there first! Enlist the help of every member of your family. If you live alone, invite some family & friends over to help you and reward them with a little pizza party when done. Go through that entire room cleaning it up, organzing things and removing things that shouldn’t be in there and items you no longer need or want. Remember, less is best…the less you have the less you have to clean!

3. Only move on to the next room when the previous room has been completed. If you start dabbling in several rooms at one time you will feel over-whelmed and like nothing is getting accomplished. When one room is completely finished you will feel that your hard work paid off & you can stand back and see your beautiful results.

4. Take your time!!! There is no reason that you entire house needs cleaned up and organized in one single weekend! Take your time and accomplish one room every weekend leading up to the holiday season.

5. Every week walk through the completed rooms and freshen them up. This means pick up anything that needs picked up, dust, vacuum and do your weekly thing. The trick to all of this is staying on top of things and not letting your cleaning housework get out of control.

How many of you own a BISSELL? I current own one of their vacuums but it’s about 2 years old and I am hankering to get a new one. To be really honest with you…it’s the best vacuum I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of them during my 46 years of life. I would love to hear from all of you if you own one or if you have any holiday cleaning tips to share with our blog readers. Good luck in entering their giveaway!
