How many of you dread those heavy vacuums when it comes to cleaning your home? I know I do! As someone who suffers with chronic pain and has had a hip replacement, I can’t drag heavy vacuum all over my home, nor up and down the stairs any more.
Back in early December I went on the hunt for a “lighter” weight upright vacuum and tried out three different type’s before I finally settled on the Bissell 1822 Cleanview Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum. If you’re looking for a new vacuum cleaner that is light-weight, powerful and affordable, read on!

My previous vacuum is one of those expensive, multi-hundred dollars brands and let me tell you, it weighed a whopping 21 lbs. My new one by Bissell weighs in at only 15 lbs. and being 6 lbs. lighter, it makes a HUGE difference!

In our home we have multiple different type’s of flooring. For example: wall-to-wall carpeting, large area rugs, small rugs, ceramic tile, hardwood flooring, etc. This one vacuum will clean all of those surfaces and you won’t have to switch out to any tools, at least I don’t! I just change the height dial on the front of the vacuum as I go from surface to surface.
Throughout the past 6 weeks, I’ve used it to clean-up lint, debris, rock salt, sand, cookie sprinkles, glass slivers, kitty litter, etc. It has picked up everything with ease and almost always on one pass! Once I’m done, I unhook the clear canister…take it over to my garbage can, empty it, reattach it and I’m ready to do more cleaning. Yes, it’s really that easy!
My very expensive name brand vacuum cleaned up things easily too, but…it was extremely heavy to lug around. On top of that, it was loud & noisy. While my new one makes noise, it’s only about half as loud as my other one. That’s fabulous, considering I often have grandchildren here who are napping and I don’t want to disturb them.
I’m not going to mention the brand name of my other vac, but I will tell you that my other one cost me $387.00 (on sale) a year ago. My new Bissell 1822 Cleanview Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum cost me less than $100.00 and I think it performs just as well, if not better. Plus, it’s lighter in weight, isn’t as loud and you gotta love that price point. In my honest opinion, I would definitely by this Bissell vacuum again!!!

If you’ve been reading this blog over the years, you’ll already know that I’m a neat and clean freak. When I test out a new cleaning product, I really test it out all through my house. I’m picky about the things that I use and I always give them my 100% honest review. Well, I can honestly tell you that I absolutely LOVE the product that I’m featuring today.
For the review I received a canister of the Uniquely J Clean Living All Purpose Cleaning Wipes that are fragrance free. You get 75 ( 7 3/4″ by 7″) sized cleaning wipes in each package. They’re suitable to use on all hard non-porous surfaces and have advanced grease cutting technology. They are non-toxic and non-GMO.
This is a plant derived product that provides a cleaner lifestyle and is free from: hazardous chemicals, dyes, parabens and phthalates. Plus, they’re made right here in the good U.S.A.
First up…using the Uniquely J Clean Living All Purpose Cleaning Wipes to give my kitchen a good overall cleaning. Like a lot of people, I have stainless steel appliances and they can really be touch to clean. Plus, after you clean them, you have to deal with the fingerprints and streaking left behind.
I used the product to clean the front of my dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, range and range hood last week. All of the dirt, grime and grease easily wiped away, no scrubbing was necessary at all. I was able to clean all of them in less than 20 minutes from top to bottom. One of the things that really impressed me is that there was NO STREAKING left behind. NONE. Absolutely NONE!
I have granite counter-tops and a granite topped small kitchen table in my kitchen. I used the wipes to wipe down all of my granite-topped surfaces and it did equally as well. On one particular day I accidentally dripped some honey onto the counter-top and it was a gooey mess. I got out a wipe and within minutes, that gooey mess was cleaned up and gone. A regular cleaning rag was just making the mess worse, so I was pretty happy to have these cleaning wipes on hand.
The following day I gave them a good workout in our one guest bathroom. I used one wipe to thoroughly clean the bathroom sink. I was able to get around the faucet with ease and it left the brushed nickle finish shiny and streak-free. They removed soap scum and dirt quickly and easily from my white porcelain sink too! I then used a new cleaning wipe to clean up the toilet seat, lid and base of the toilet. I was really impressed how quickly it got all of that nasty gunk off of the porcelain and things were shiny-clean!
For those of you who have ceiling fans…you’ve got to try these All-Purpose Cleaning Wipes! I got out my step stool and used the wipes to clean all of the ceiling fans in our home. Oh my gosh, they were super-dirty and these wipes really cleaned them up. Every week I wall through my home and use a cleaning wipe to wipe down the door knobs and light switches which really helps to cut down on transferable germs. These wipes were perfect for that cleaning chore too!
