Summer is finally here which means it’s time to get out the swimsuits, lotion and towels. During this season it’s nothing but beach fun in the sun and lazy days lounging by the pool. It also means salty seawater, chlorine filled pools, sweat, lotion residue, sand and even dirt.
Our towels put up with the brunt of our summer adventures having to dry us off after a swim to creating a comfortable sun bathing experience. It absorbs the water, sweat and dirt from our bodies and ends up smelling like garbage. To help get better smelling beach towels, Febreze has created Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator. It’s an in-wash solution that is used with regular detergent and it targets tough odors while detergent washes away dirt and stains.
This product is safe for all washing machines, including HE. It will remove odors caused by sweat, mildew, food, pets and smoke. It is safe to use with all detergents, bleaches, fabric softeners and other laundry additives you may use.
Recently I had the opportunity to try out the Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator and was really impressed with it. We do a lot of traveling and spend a lot of time outdoors in our yard, hiking, the swimming pool and in our garden. My family really knows how to get stinky and dirty!
I had a batch of stinky smelling beach towels and bath towels that needed to be washed. They had sat in my hamper for 3 days and had that familiar musty/mildew smell that wet, now dry towels get. Ewwwwwww! I toss them into the washer with my normal laundry detergent and added in the Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator. Let the load wash as normal.
Once done…tossed everything into the dryer using no dryer sheets because I wanted to see if the stinky odors were really gone. Once done, removed and took a good whiff. Wow, all odors were honestly gone. GONE!!!
The following day hubby came home from work and had spilled some type of stinky fuel all over him. He smelled like a gas station and doesn’t even work at one. Ugh! I had him remove his work uniform and I immediately tossed it into the washer with my laundry detergent and Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator. Just like the first load I tested it out on…his uniform came out super clean and better yet…that nasty fuel/gas smell was gone! Yay!
While I would NOT use Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator in every load of household laundry…I certainly would & will use it when I have a stinky load of clothing, towels or textiles to wash-up. I think this product is awesome and I plan to always have a bottle of it in my laundry room for when the need arises.

Eco Nuts is a USDA organic cleaning products company that packages with little to no plastic. The company utilizes berries that grow in the Himalayas that naturally contain soap in many of their products, and they sell natural wool dryer balls too.
One of their most popular products are the berries themselves which you can use for your laundry, though they also have “normal” detergent products like USDA Organic liquid detergent and powder – both packaged without plastic. The company name is a play on words that can be used to describe the soap berries (which resemble acorns) and a term for people who are crazy about the environment.

– The laundry products can be used in all machines (including HE) and are great for baby clothes and cloth diapers.
For the review I was sent several different products to try out for all of you. If you have been reading this blog you already know that I suffer with sensitive skin and I have a new grandchild on the way. I am all about using natural products when I can.
First up, the Eco Nuts Soap Nuts Kit which includes enough soap nuts and 2 drawstring bags to do 100 loads of laundry. Yes, you read that right! This one small kit will do 100 loads of laundry and takes up very little space! No heavy laundry detergent bottles or boxes to lug around and store!
To use them…simply place 4-5 of the soap nuts into the little canvas bag. Pull it shut and toss into your washing machine. I tested them out on a load of dark clothes, colored clothes and a load of whites and my laundry came out all three times…perfect! Everything was clean, static-free and smelled super fresh! Yup, odors were gone too!
As I stated, my daughter is expecting a baby boy to arrive in early September. We’ve been busy washing up all of his nursery items, bedding, clothing, cloth diapers, etc. to prepare for his arrival.
We received a bottle of the Eco Nuts Organic Baby Liquid Laundry Soap that comes in an easy-to-use pump bottle. This one bottle will do 30 regular loads or 60 HE loads. It can be used to wash baby clothes, linens and/or cloth diapers. You only need 2-3 pumps of the liquid soap put directly into the water and your done! Just wash everything as you normally do. We are really impressed with this product too!
Finally, we received a set of 4 Large Plain Wool Dryer Balls. I’ve used wool dryer balls before but what really impressed me with these are their large size! I have a large dryer and those little wool dryer balls aren’t enough for me. This size is perfect!
Just toss them into your dryer and it will help to speed up drying time, keep your clothing soft and I also find that they reduce and/or eliminate static cling. For me, they eliminate the need for dryer sheets! They recommend tossing all 4 into your dryer but I found that 2-3 were sufficient for me. These wool dryer balls will last for years which saves you a lot of money over time! Wow!
In addition to the full-size products they sent along a few packets of the Eco Nuts Powdered Detergent Samples. This is baby laundry powder which I gave these to my daughter to try out on some new cloth diapers we just bought for the baby. She really enjoyed using them and was pleased with the results.

If you have never tried any of Eco Nuts laundry products and not sure where to begin, I would recommend buying a few of their sample packets (great for traveling too) or pick up the 3 full-size products that I got to review. In my honest opinion, they are all winners and you can’t go wrong with them!
