Creative Haven Christmas Charm Coloring Book

The coloring book features 31 beautiful Christmas designs with designs printed only on one side of the page. The edge of each page is perforated so that you can easily remove it from the book to color. You can use a standard set of colored pencils, markers, gel ink pens, etc. to color the designs. I prefer using gel ink pens that I purchase from Amazon at an affordable price.

I love that the designs are very detailed and you can use any colors that your heart prefers. There are a nice variety of designs, so there’s something for everyone with no duds in the entire bunch. I’m going to color in the designs and then cut them a part and use those parts to make my own Christmas greeting cards next year. This will keep me busy throughout the winter months!!! You can frame the finished design and hang it on you wall, laminate it to use as a placemat, cut a part the images and use the elements on you scrapbook pages, etc, There’s a lot you can do with them.

Starfish Seashell Coastal Christmas Tree Ornaments

Starfish Seashell Coastal Christmas Tree Ornaments

Starfish Seashell Coastal Christmas Tree OrnamentsEvery year I look forward to the holiday season and adding new coastal decorations to my Christmas tree. My entire 5 foot tree is decked out in beautiful coastal and beach theme’d holiday ornaments. I would estimate that 70% of them are store bought and 30% are ones that I’ve personally made.

These Starfish Seashell Coastal Christmas Tree Ornaments do take some time to make but your efforts are well rewarded with beautiful treasures that you can hang on your Christmas tree. You can use these treasures all over your home…because they don’t scream Christmas! Here’s how you can make them.

Starfish Seashell Coastal Christmas Tree Ornaments

Unfinished Wood Stars
Real or Faux Beach Sand
Small Clam Shells
1 Small Moon Shell
6mm to 8mm Faux White Pearls
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer with Fine Glitter
Hot Glue Gun with Glue Sticks (or) E6000 Adhesive Glue
Fast-Drying Tacky Glue that Dries Clear
Foam Paint Brush
Gold or Silver Metallic Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
String or Ribbon for Hanging

Note: If your unfinished wood star doesn’t have a pre-drilled hole you’ll need to add a hole using your drill.

Base coat your wooden star with acrylic craft paint. We used a gold metallic color. You’ll need to paint both sides and we used 2 coats of paint. Let it dry.

Use the foam brush to apply a layer of Fast-Drying Tacky Glue (thin layer) to one side of the star. Sprinkle your beach sand or faux beach sand on top. Let dry. This will take 1-3 hours.

Wash and dry all seashells. Take them outside and lightly spray them with a coat of Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer with Fine Glitter. We used one that had micro-fine gold metallic glitter. Flip shells over and add another coat on the other side. Let them dry.

Now its time to decorate your prepared wooden starfish. You can follow the design in our photograph which utilizes small clam shells, a moon shell (in the center) and faux pearls. You’ll need to apply them using a hot glue gun or with E6000 Adhesive Glue (I prefer using the E6000). You should be generous with the amount of glue that you’re using so that you get a strong bond.

Cut a 5″ piece of string or satin ribbon. Tie it into a loop and then thread it through the hanging hole. Your new Coastal Beach Starfish Seashell Christmas Tree Ornament is now ready to be used.
