Tips to Make Your Child’s Bathtime Fun and Stress-Free

Tips to Make Your Child's Bathtime Fun and Stress-Free* Thanks Disney for sending these free products for me to review. All opinions are my own.

I’m pretty lucky, both of my grandchildren love getting a bath and both of them have loved getting a bath since day one. I know some parents struggle with getting their children into a bath, but that wasn’t the case for us.

As a mother and now grandmother, I think it’s important to get your child to love a bath from the very start. If you have issues with getting a young child to love getting a bath…here are a few tips.

Tips to Make Your Child’s Bathtime Fun and Stress-Free

1. Start them off early. Even though being a parent & grandparent is a busy & often sleepless time, take time out DAILY to give your child a bath.

2. Get onto a regular schedule. We do my grandchildren’s baths every night between 7 and 7:30 pm. They know that it’s bath time, then reading time and we follow that up with bedtime. It’s a routine and children love structured routines at a young age.

3. Invest in quality baby bath & body care products! We like to use natural and/or organic bath & body products that smell good. A lot of times we use baby products that have a lavender fragrance, to help calm them and get them ready for bed.

4. Make bathtime fun! We use a variety of fun bath toys to keep bathtime fun! Every few days we rotate out the toys and put new ones in and keep rotating them in/out to keep their excitement & interest going. As they age, we replace those toys with “age appropriate” toys. Don’t hand your kinds the same 2-3 times for 3-4 months and think it will keep them entertained. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way!

5. After the bath…spend quality time bonding with your child. Give them a little body massage with baby lotion, sing to them as your getting them dressed and talk to them while brushing their hair. Let them feel your touch and hear your calm, low-key voice.

6. Finish up your routine by sitting down and reading a bedtime story to your child. When it comes to bedtime, don’t be reading any type of books that over-stimulate their minds or any book that they might find scary. We keep a collection of books just for bedtime reading.

Disney The Little Mermaid Bath Squirt Toys

When it comes to bathtime toys, we love these cute & adorable Bath Squirt Toys by Disney. They sell them in various designs and come in a handy 3-pack. The set we received for this article feature those adorable characters from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. They’re colorful, soft, squishy and will float! My little grandson loves squeezing them to squirt out the water and loves splashing them so that they float around in the tub. They’re made for children ages 6 months of age and up. In addition to using them in the tub…they would be great to use in the kiddie pool too!

The First Years make many adorable and necessary baby products, baby gifts and toys for the little ones. You can find them in various retail stores across the nation and you can find them at TheFirstYears.com.

My grandson is 15 months old and right at that weird in-between stage. He doesn’t want to play with teethers, rattles and balls anymore, but he’s not quite old enough for most toddler-aged toys. Shopping for holiday gifts for a child this age doesn’t have

Ocean Wonders Build & Spin by Learning Resources

Ocean Wonders Build & Spin by Learning Resources

Ocean Wonders Build & Spin by Learning ResourcesFor the past 7 years I’ve been buying and/or reviewing various educational toys and games from the company called Learning Resources. This company has been one of my go-to sources for quality made toys that enrich the mind and provide hours upon hours of play-time enjoyment.

When you shop at Learning Resources you will find activity sets & books, construction sets, active learning & play sets, discovery & exploration sets, electronic toys, games, puzzles, water & sand toys and a whole lot more! Everything on their site is extremely well-made and affordable.

For this holiday gift guide feature, we received the Ocean Wonders Build & Spin Toy from Learning Resources. This educational toy is for children ages 2 year and up, and includes a total of 17 pieces. It will help children with their fine motor skills and help to teach them cause & effect.

Each of the oversized and chunky pieces are the perfect size for toddler hands and the cute character pieces are made out of a soft plastic material. We love anything and everything that has to do with the beach & the ocean, so I knew my grandchildren would LOVE this particular item.

When it comes to the characters, you’ll find: a starfish, clown fish, octopus, whale, turtle, crab and a dolphin.

The entire set is made up with a blue gear board and then you get 8 colorful gears and 7 character pieces that all fit together on the board. Your child can mix and match the pieces and put them onto the gear board in any design that they would like.

One of the things I appreciate about this particular toy is it’s size. I can easily pack it up when we’re traveling, the kids can play with it in the car, it can easily go back & forth from their house to my house and when it’s not being played with…it doesn’t take up a slew of storage room. On top of all of that, those sea life creatures & characters are just adorable! Cute, Cute, Cute!
