Everyone’s favorite builder is now back on PBS Kids for a second season. To help celebrate Bob the Builder’s return we were sent a complimentary box full of Bob the Builder Toys and received 2 complimentary Bob the Builder episodes to host our own little play date party with our grandchildren and my nephew.

I invited the kids over for a play date with us and we all sat down to watch a few Bob the Builder episodes and afterwards, we got the toys out for some playtime fun!

One of the things I LOVED about the Bob the Builder Construction Site was the PlaySand. It was super easy for the kids to mold into different shapes and designs, using the provided tools in the play set. Plus, the PlaySand didn’t dry out at all. The kids played with this construction site more than the other toys that they sent to us…but they did enjoy them all. I guess what I’m saying is, the construction site was definitely their favorite!

After the 3 hours of play time…I served them a quick dinner and then we had some ice cream sundaes. It was a great day and they were thoroughly entertained. Matter of fact, my 7 year old granddaughter has been over to our home 3 more times since the play date party and each time she was here, she got out the Bob the Builder toys! They are real winners!

You can start finding these great toys in retailers across the nation this Fall and online. With the Christmas holiday coming up, I think they would make awesome holiday gifts.

How many of you are familiar with the construction building sets from K’nex? My granddaughter, god son, nieces and nephews have been playing with K’nex toys for many years. I have to admit, I’m personally a big fan of these construction building sets and have been buying them as birthday gifts and Christmas gifts for many years.

Recently we were given the opportunity to try out two of the new building sets from K’nex and today, I’m going to feature one of those sets right here on the blog. You can find the other review posted HERE.

Today we are featuring the K’nex Revvin’ Racecar 2-in-1 Building Set that comes with a battery-operated motor. You’ll need to supply the 2AA batteries for it. This construction building set will mix-n-match nicely with other sets that you may own and/or it works nicely all on it’s own.

With this particular set, your children can build a motorized race car and then tear it apart to build a motorized ATV. Instructions for both builds are included in the set along with 370 K’nex connectors and rods. This set is made for children ages 7 and up.

Every time the kids are over at my home…they love to get out the various K’nex building sets that I own and play with them. Sometimes they play with just one particular set and at other times they will mix-n-match sets together, so that they can get really creative with what they’re building.

As a grandparent, I love building sets like this, because it gets children up and moving around. I’m NOT fond of kids sitting on a computer, sitting around playing video games or watching TV. I believe kids need to be active and creative, and K’nex toys helps them to do just that!

This line of construction building sets is absolutely fantastic when you need to buy a birthday gift or Christmas present for a child. Many people think of these sets as only for boys…but I’m here to tell you that my granddaughter loves them just as much as any boy in our family!
