Animated stories from Spain are brought to life in the Dougie in Disguise DVD series by the great folks over at Organa Kids. The newest title in the series will be released onto DVD on April 10th, 2012.

In this children’s animated stories, Dougie in Disguise, charming tales from Spain to encourage imaginative play, launches in two volumes. Dougie is a curious kid who loves to play with sticker albums and is never without his friend, Tim the dog. Curiosity and imagination combine with Dougie dresses up in a disguise and has adventures. Dougie in disguise allows children to help Dougie choose stickers from his book that will help him in his travels. Warm & funny, engaging & cheerful, each vignette helps children learn about occupations, geography, and famous characters from literature.

Thirteen adventures on the first disc and 14 adventures on the second disc. The two volumes of his adventures, aimed at children up to age 5 years of age, will be available for purchase through Amazon.com, Organakids.com and various other stores & sites. The suggested selling price is $19.95. The DVD has an approximate running time of 105 minutes in length.

Our Review: We had never heard of this series so we were excited to check it out. We received the Dougie in Disguise Volume 2 DVD for our review. This particular volume contains the following episodes: (1) As a Blacksmith (2) As a Puss in Boots (3) As a Juggler (4) As a Film Director (5) As an Astronomer (6) As a Toadstool (7) As a Polar Bear (8) As a Boatman (9) As a Policeman (10) As a Florist (11) As an Egg (12) As a Hairdresser (13) As a Lion (14) As a Superhero.

I wasn’t home the day my 2 1/2 year old grand daughter came up to the house for a movie date with pappy so I will have to tell you all what the 2 of them thought about it (since I didn’t get to see it). Hubby said that the graphics are really cute and that the grand-wee-one could understand the storyline and followed them along. Every once in awhile she did ask him a question though about something she didn’t quite get. He did have an hour long intermission break while viewing the video so it is pretty long, although each episode is short in duration. He said there were 3 particular episodes that she seemed to really like (1) Puss in Boots (2) Polar Bear and (3) Hairdresser. He said she was really into Tim the Dog who is with Dougie every step of the way during this funny and cute adventures. Overall, they really liked the DVD.

This would be a great DVD to add to any preschool aged child’s video library.
