I am really excited about this next review that we did for all of you because I can remember playing with Lincoln Logs when I was a child. When my daughter was a little girl she had 2 Lincoln Log sets and now that I am a grandmother, I was super excited to give this set that I got for the review to my little 3 year old grand-daughter.
Lincoln Logs have been around since 1916 and delighting millions of children with creative playtime for a very long time. Since their inception, they have been made with real wood logs!
Today we are reviewing the Lincoln Logs White River Ranch building play set for all of you. This set is for ages 3 and up, and comes with 90 pieces. The set includes 79 wooden logs, 1 cowboy figure, 1 horse figure, 1 dog figure, 1 cow figure, 1 hay bale, 1 door, 1 door frame, 1 gable roof, 1 add-on roof, 1 trough, 1 flag and instructions. Everything comes nicely packaged in a storage box.
What I have always loved with Lincoln Logs is that you build multiple things over and over again. It’s a great way to get the creative juices going in your child and a great way for them to build hand-to-eye coordination. The box has really cool graphics on it and I love that they show you in color different variations that you can build of the ranch with just this one building set!
My grand-wee-one have been having a ball with this set all week long! They have built all kinds of ranches and houses with this set and she has sat and played with the set for hours at a time. You can use this set with any of the Lincoln Log sets that you may already own. It’s a great stand-alone set or purchase it and add it onto other sets.
I just love Lincoln Logs, always have and always will! If you don’t have small children but need to purchase a gift for a small child, Lincoln Logs is the classic hot gift to give! You can check out their web site to see all kinds of Lincoln Log building sets that any child would love to receive!

K’NEX is a children’s toy company that I am very familiar with since I have many kids in my family who request that we purchase K’NEX brand construction and building toys, for their Birthday and Holiday gifts. I have purchased at least 20 sets of their fabulous building toys just in the past 2 years alone.
K’NEX has building toys for almost all of the age groups (Preschool up to Adult). Yes, even adults like my husband enjoy playing with the K’NEX line of toys! Furthermore, K’NEX is perfect for both boys and girls who love to construct and build things.
My Review: I received the Silly Monsters Building Set by K’NEX to review for all of you. Once it arrived, my little almost 3 year old grand daughter could hardly wait for me to get it all out of the box! She loves building things and we knew this was a great building set for her to enjoy.
The Silly Monsters Building Set has 23 pieces and is made for ages 3 and up. It comes nicely packaged in a sturdy cardboard box which is great for storage. The set includes rods, connectors, and personality parts like eyes, curls, and toes as well as 5 suggestive alternative builds. This is a great set for hours upon hours of building fun!
One of the things I really like about this set is that it is focused on “Monsters” and it makes the word “Monsters” fun and not scary. Wee-one is at the age that she is not sure about “Monsters” so this is a great way to show her that “Monsters” can be fun and not scary!
I also love that it’s a small set so you can toss the box in your diaper bag, tote bag, luggage or take it in the car when you are traveling for road trips. A great little set to keep the kids occupied and it provides oodles of hours of fun!
The grand-wee-one and her pappy had a blast playing with Silly Monsters Building Set and it was fun for me to watch them play with it. They had a great time and she really loves this set! yeah!
This set is super affordable at only $10.99 and makes a great gift for any child on your gift-giving list. We highly recommend this set to you, especially if you have preschooler’s in the house or if you need a gift for a preschool-aged child.
