Be Brave, Be Brave, Be Brave is a children’s book written by author F. Anthony Falcon with illustrations by Trisha Mason. It’s a true story of Fatherhood and Native American Heritage. ISBN: 978-1-57687-914-6.

Be Brave, Be Brave, Be Brave Children's Book by F. Anthony Falcon

Synopsis: A man of Native American descent contemplates what lessons he will pass on to his newborn son in this heartfelt, expansive exploration of fatherhood, identity, and legacy.

Based on the true story of the birth of his son, Be Brave, Be Brave, Be Brave recalls the thoughts of author F. Anthony Falcon upon holding his child after the baby and his wife endured a life-threatening labor during Hurricane Harvey’s landfall in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Having felt adrift from his Native roots, Falcon found himself with a deep desire to understand his heritage so that he might better bestow it upon his son. A meditation on what it means to “be brave,” this is the take of little Lakota’s perilous arrival into the world, of Falcon’s struggle to reconnect with a heritage that was lost to him, and a father’s attempt to describe what it means to be a Native American man in America today.

About the Author: F. Anthony Falcon found his love for books in the library at William B. Travis Elementary School in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. His love for history led him to research his own Native American heritage in the hope that he could one day instill that pride in his children. Anthony has a love for writing as well and a huge imagination which, when put together, makes for some very interesting reading. He currently resides in Corpus Christi, Texas with his wife and son.

Be Brave, Be Brave, Be Brave Children's Book by F. Anthony Falcon

My Thoughts: One of the things I really love about this book is that it’s written from the perspective of the father which is refreshing. As you read through the story you’ll learn a little bit about the Native American culture, a new father’s perspective on being a new dad and a little bit of insight on what was going on when Hurricane Harvey came ashore. There’s a lot packed into the 32 pages to entertain you and the kids from cover-to-cover.

Be Brave, Be Brave, Be Brave is like no other book in my children’s reading library. It’s extremely well-written with beautiful and artistic illustrations. It’s the perfect book for any school’s library, the public library, baby shower gift or just to give to your own children. I think you will enjoy reading it over and over again. The type of book you’ll want to pass down to the next generation.

The World’s First Tooth Fairy…Ever is one of the cutest children’s books that I’ve seen in a long time! The story line is well-written, entertaining and engaging. The illustrations are beautiful and eye-catching. It’s a hardcover book and an easy read for most children.

My son is 4 1/2 years old and has watched the tooth fairy come and visit his big sister for the past few years. Now that he finally has a lose tooth he’s excited for his first visit from the tooth fairy. As you can imagine…he’s been asking me a ton of questions about that elusive fairy for the past few days.

The World's First Tooth Fairy...Ever by Zane Carson Carruth

We sat down to read the book together and immediately Abella draws you into the story. As we went along he had a great time pointing to the pictures and asking me questions along the way. Even at his age he understood what the story was all about. As a parent I was really impressed to see all of the different emotions that Abella experienced. I think its good for kids to be exposed to that…even in a children’s book!

The World’s First Tooth Fairy…Ever is a very delightful read. It’s different than the majority of children’s books that are currently on the market. It’s special and I think it should be in every child’s book collection. If you’re looking for a great gift to give to a new parent this book is perfect to give!
