Running Blind by Cindy Gerard Book Review

I enjoy reading a wide genre of books but I cut my teeth on black-ops and thrillers so many years ago when Robert Ludlum was one of the few writing these books. I quickly became obsessed, read everything I could of his and found other writers like Joesph Wambaugh and Tom Clancy to sink my teeth into. Now I am excited to read another author who walks the same path but also adds in some girly parts too! My dream has come true! LOL Check out:

Running Blind by Cindy Gerard
Running Blind by Cindy Gerard
Series: One-Eyed Jacks
Publisher: Pocket Books (February 24, 2015)
ISBN-10: 1476739358
ISBN-13: 978-1476739359

Tension sizzles in this new book in the One-Eyed Jacks series by New York Times bestseller Cindy Gerard: a sexy, pulse-pounding story featuring special ops agent Jamie Cooper and a female cyber analyst as they fight for justice and fall in love.

No commitments, no promises, no looking back. Those are her rules. They used to be his rules, too. Counterterrorism operative and shameless playboy Jamie Cooper has gone head-to-head with some formidable opponents, but none so quick-witted, free-spirited, and smokin’ hot as security analyst Rhonda Burns. She lives up to her name, all fiery passion and zero inhibitions.

In the wake of a sniper attack that leaves a close friend clinging to life, the duo is pegged to undertake the One-Eyed Jacks’ latest security mission alone—an assignment that leads them to a top-secret desert military facility. Almost immediately, the sexual tension that has been brewing for months erupts, blindsiding Rhonda and Jamie with the intensity of their feelings. They try to play it cool, but when an elite terrorist team makes the future uncertain, they ask themselves: is it now or never?

My ThoughtsWhen I cannot put a book down, I know it has me hooked. Cindy Gerard has a great gift to share and once again I am thrilled to find an author I have not had the pleasure of reading yet. This book combined everything I love into one happy day for me – a little bit of romance and steam, some nice thrillers and military action, and some hot men. My dream come true!

This book is part of a series, but was definitely a stand alone too. The writing is solid and the story line flows well. Because this one is part of a series, I do want to go back and grab the first few so I can catch up on the entire team mentioned in the book and get the back story, but the author does include info to keep you up to speed so you do not feel lost.

I am excited to find so many new titles that I can read from Cindy Gerard. This was a great read that was perfect for a wind down evening. Some great action, good plot, and a desire to read more makes this one to grab!

Monday’s Lie by Jamie Mason Book Review

Whenever we read a book, it seems we want to give it a specific category that it needs to fall under. Mystery, Suspense, Thriller – something. This newest novel from Jamie Mason doesn’t really fit into one category, but many. I love a good thriller

Beyond Limits by Laura Griffin Book Review

I am a happier person when I find a book that I can really get into. I love curling up into my chair and devouring a book that captures my attention. I am excited to share a book that I received to review that combines so many of my favorite genres into one story line – military, suspense and romance. Plus I am shocked that I have never heard of the author before… but that is about to be rectified. I think I am in love…

ISBN-10: 1451689357

Following in the bestselling tradition of the Tracers series, including Exposed, Scorched, and Twisted, Beyond Limits pulls out all the stops with Griffin’s most gripping thriller yet.

An FBI agent and a Navy SEAL race against time in New York Times bestselling author Laura Griffin’s newest Tracers novel. “Griffin delivers the goods!” (Publishers Weekly)

FBI agent Elizabeth LeBlanc is still caught in the aftermath of her last big case when she runs into the one man from her past who is sure to rock her equilibrium even more. Navy SEAL Derek Vaughn is back home from a harrowing rescue mission in which he found evidence of a secret terror cell on US soil. Elizabeth knows he’ll do anything to unravel the plot—including seducing her for information. And despite the risks involved, she’s tempted to let him. Together with the forensics experts at the Delphi Center, Derek and Elizabeth are closing in on the truth, but it may not be fast enough to avert a devastating attack…

My ThoughtsI love a great action movie and when a book includes it too, I love it. This book from Laura Griffin has a ton of action – from the terrorist plots to the hot SEAL that helps the FBI agent – oh yeah. This book is right up my alley! Imagine my surprise when I found that this is a series! And the fact that I have never heard of these books prior makes me both happy and sad. Happy, because I have a lot of awesome reading to catch up with and sad because I could have been enjoying Laura Griffin’s books sooner!

While this book is part of a series, it is a definite stand alone read. The main characters were introduced in prior book and then developed into this storyline.

I was enthralled from the beginning of the book and it just got better and better. The author has a strong knowledge of military terms and info plus the plot of the book is very plausible. Her writing style is nice and flowing plus her characters are real people. I had no trouble buying into them.

I love Derek! He is intense and sweet but I wanted to know more. I really wanted the book to keep on going. I wish it offered a longer ending for these guys. I want to see them together as a couple. Maybe the author will bring them back again and develop the more personal side of their relationship.

Overall, this book was a winner for me. I loved the action, the suspense and the bit of romance too. A perfect blend of a great read! Check out all of Laura Griffin’s novels. She has so many to check out in different genre’s too!
