I am a spoiled girl today! You know how I feel about jewelry and I have been ecstatic the last few days because I have been wearing a fabulous new piece of handmade jewelry from an amazing designer by the name of Adriana Laura Mendez. Adriana has been making a splash around the web with her fabulous wire crochet jewelry designs in wearable art and fashion pieces.
Ms. Mendez and her business partner son, Julian Oribe have created a fabulous business using the amazing crafting technique called wire crochet. Adriana handweaves all of her designs and creates jewelry pieces that are just so gorgeous! I was send a stunning crocheted cuff bracelet that took my breath away.
Called the Stylish Catalina Cuff Wire Crochet Bracelet, this piece is fabricated using a crochet needle and then hand weaving the 14k gold filled wire strips and sterling silver wire into an amazing cuff bracelet.
This bracelet is approximately 2.5″ wide and the craftsmanship is amazing. Because of the weaving, it is a semi flexible piece and very light to wear. I have been staring at the technique trying to figure out how she did this with such precision and detail. While I am impressed by her ability to create and design such pieces as she shows here, in her website and Etsy store, I am more impressed that I now own one!
The Catalina Cuff is an superior piece of jewelry that can be worn with so many different styles. It is definitely something I would wear with an amazing black dress for a night out in the city. It will also look fabulous with a lovely outfit capped over a long sleeve for a business meeting or church event. Because of the mixed silver and gold wire, the possibilities are endless on how and where this can be worn.
If you are a jewelry lover and can appreciate the handcrafted techniques and creativity of women such as Adriana, you have to check out her jewelry line. She is so talented and many of her pieces I found my eye lingering just a tad too long for comfort LOL!

For the past few weeks I have been on the hunt for personalized kids backpacks and finally, I got one! I didn’t want just any “old” backpack for Little G and really wanted something special. The backpack I received from Posy Lane is just gorgeous!
The quilted backpack is made from 100% soft brown cotton with pink cotton trim. I love those 2 colors together! The front of the bag has a applique’d owl sitting on a tree branch. (way too cute!). The flap of the backpack has another applique and it’s of a tree. The one side of the tote bag has a zipper closure pocket and the top of the bag has a drawstring closure. To make the backpack really secure, they added the flap closure with magnetic snap.
The backpack straps on the back are done in pink cotton and feature 2 adjustable button closures. As your child grows, you can adjust the straps and there are no nasty metal buckles to dig into their skin. The inside of the bag is lined in pretty pink and I love that it’s pink so that she can easily see what’s inside her bag.
Your child can carry the bag via the carrying strap at the top of the bag or put it on their back’s like a backpack. At Little G’s preschool they have little wooden lockers and she uses the carry strap to hang her backpack up on a hook in her locker.
This is an adorable backpack! It is extremely well-made, functional and I love that it’s light-weight, but yet sturdy. We give it a huge 2 thumbs up!
