First, let me say that I love boots. Actually, I love shoes. All shoes really, but there’s special place in my heart and in my closet for boots. You can imagine my reaction when I found out that I was going to be reviewing Hugrz™ boot wraps. I get to try out a product that beautifies the look of my boots? I couldn’t wait for the delivery guy to show up!

Before I share my experience with this funky and fun product, let me tell you a little about Hugrz boot wraps. The boot wraps fit over a variety of boots from shearling/sheep skin boots to heeled boots, rain boots, booties and smooth leather boots. The Hugrz boot wraps look great “scrunched” on short boots or you can pull them up on your leg to make your boots look taller. There is also a line of accessories that range from crisscross suede laces to feathered tassels that you can use to personalize and make the boot wraps even more versatile.

There are three collections of Hugrz boot wraps and boot covers; The Aspen collection, which are made from all-synthetic faux fur; the Bennington collection, which have the appearance of warm-knit sweaters made from soft, cotton blend; and the Santa Fe collection which has a soft velvet feel and are made in different animal prints. Plus, if you love to add accessories to spice up your boots, they have some neat things to add, like laces, tassels and pom poms! Darling!

For my review, I received the Beige Sherpa Hugrz Boot Wraps and the black suede laces. I played around with both on several pairs of my boots, but the ones that really looked the best were my shearling/UGG boots. This particular pair of boots is fairly plain, so the boot wrap was ideal to give my ho-hum boot a sassy, modern makeover! The wraps fit easily over my boots and once they were on, they stayed in place. The Sherpa Hugrz reminded me of the kind of footwear you see the celebrities wearing at Sundance. While I wish I could have clicked my heels at been hanging with movie stars and rock stars in the snowy streets in Park City, I decided that a movie with my husband and son would be cool too.

Wearing the boots with the Sherpa Hugrz over them to the movies was a smart move on my part. As usual, the air conditioning in the theater was set to roughly around 200 below zero (maybe I was in Park City after all!) and I was glad that I had the extra warmth keeping my legs and feet snuggly! I also loved the way the boots looked over my favorite pair of jeans. I really liked the way my outfit looked with the addition of the fur-covered Hugrz.

Hugrz boot wraps are the perfect way to jazz up your wardrobe without spending a lot of money. You can create multiple looks by simply sliding these boot wraps over a pair of boots you already own and by adding one of the accessories, you can have a different look every time you wear them. Wearing the laces crisscrossed over the fur added a stylish and trendy twist to the boots as well.

I used to travel quite a bit and I think that the boot wraps and accessories would be the perfect way to prevent over-packing. I would always pack way too many pairs of boots for my winter trips to New York. I remember it like it was yesterday—standing at the counter, sweating it out as the airline agent hoisted my gigantic bag up on the dreaded scale. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you are lucky. There’s nothing more embarrassing than digging through your luggage trying to pick and choose the heaviest items to swap into your carry-on and as you clumsily fumble through, you pray that no one sees the pair of polka dotted underwear that just fell out of your bag. Seriously.

A few things to note about the Hugrz boot wraps. They can be hand washed and laid flat to dry or you can even dry clean them if you like. They can be exposed to some rain and snow, but if you really want them to last and look great, you should treat them with loving care. I wouldn’t play in any puddles or make snow angels while wearing your Hugrz.

All in all, I had a great experience with this product. They are well-made, they are versatile and they are just plain fun. The added bonus for me? My dog, Colby, thought he found one of his long-lost relatives, which gave me a good laugh (see the photo). It was definitely a challenge trying to get him out of the shot to get a picture of me wearing the boots!
