Organize Kid’s Nerf Toys with Plastic Laundry Pod Containers

Organize Kid’s Nerf Toys with Plastic Laundry Pod Containers

Organize Kid's Nerf Toys with Plastic Laundry Pod ContainersMy 7 year old son has a ton of Nerf guns, footballs, and other toys. The Nerf guns shoot foam bullets or darts. Those pieces get all over my house and backyard. He’s always losing them and I’m always the one finding them and picking them up. Well, problem solved!

Get those Nerf toys organized and stored in upcycled plastic laundry pod containers! They’re the perfect size to house all of those bullets and darts!

To get started…wash each container thoroughly with warm, soapy water. Remove all labels and stickers from the outside by letting it soak in the soapy water or by using a product called Goo-Be-Gone or other adhesive remover. Wash again with liquid soap and then rinse clean. Let them air dry.

I picked up a package of large self-adhesive stickers from the local craft store. You want the letters to be about 2 1/2″ to 3″ in size. Kids need to be able to see them! I applied them to each container. To get them to POP against the green and orange background I took a black medium-tip paint pen and outlined each letter. Let dry for 1 hour or until the paint is thoroughly dry.

Your kids can now store all of their smaller Nerf accessories in the containers. My son puts his bullets in the green one and the darts in the orange one. He keeps them store on a shelf in his toy closet. When he’s ready to take them outside he grabs the containers and go. When he’s done playing he walks around the yard to pick them all up, sorts them and places them back into the proper container.

How often do you clean out your refrigerator and freezer? I mean, really clean it out and give it a good cleaning? I do mine about every 6-8 weeks (a deep clean) but a weekly light clean. Do you have an organized fridge or do you just put things in there? I’ve seen some very organized refrigerator pictures on Pinterest. Holy cows, some people take fridge organization way too far. I believe in being a little organized in there so the family can quickly find what they need but some folks go overboard. Thoughts?
