How to Clean a Hair Trimmer and Dry Shaver

How to Clean a Hair Trimmer and Dry Shaver

I use a hand-held hair trimmer and a dry shaver every week. They’re two of my must-have beauty tools that you’ll always find in my beauty bag. One thing that has always bugged me about them is when they get jammed up with tiny hairs…you know, that stubble hair!!! Last month I came up with my own way on how to clean them.

First…you need to remove all of the tiny hairs and stubble from each device. I found that an old eye brow brush and comb work perfect for that job! Run the soft bristled brush over the trimmer head and shaver blade. It will remove the tiny hairs and any dust balls that may be in them. It only takes a few seconds every week or two to do!

To clean them of germs you can use a household cleaning wipe, a make-up remover wipe, or use a cleaning cloth dipped in warm water. Make sure you wring it out, you don’t want water running into your devices. Both of mine run on batteries, so they’re wire-free. Important to keep them dry and clean. Let them air dry for 2-5 minutes and then put them away. Quick and easy!

For this review I used a complimentary bottle of the Alive Ferments Cultured Chili Sauce in the Spicy OG flavor. This sauce is in the range of “MEDIUM HEAT”. It features a blend of red bell pepper, Fresno, and Jalapeno Peppers with their unique blend of spices along with garlic. It’s a cultured chili sauce that’s rich in naturally occurring probiotics.

My husband loves spicy foods…the hotter the better in his book. While I enjoy spicy foods, I go for medium heat. Last week we made Empanadas for a quick weeknight dinner. We cooked them in our air fryer to save time. Earlier that day my husband whipped up a delicious dipping sauce (see below for the recipe) to go along with them. You’ll want to make the dipping sauce 1-3 hours before serving so that it can chill in the refrigerator. That allows all of the flavors to infuse.

The addition of the Alive Ferments Cultured Chili Sauce in the recipe made the most delicious dipping sauce with just the right amount of “heat” so that we could both enjoy it. It’s NOT spicy hot, mouth-burning at all. Definitely a medium heat which can be toned down with the addition of more Sweet & Sour Sauce if you like a more “mild” sauce. The Chili Sauce has a really nice consistency to it so that you can indeed mix it into your favorite recipes. We want to try it as a marinade on chicken wings next!

While they were cooking my husband poured about a 1/4 cup of the Alive Fermented Cultured Chili Sauce Spicy OG into a bowl. He added 2 tablespoons of sour cream, 3 slices of Jalapenos that he finely chopped up and 1 tablespoon of Sweet and Sour Sauce (any brand will do). Mix all of that up and chill for an hour.

Serve the dipping sauce right alongside of the Empanadas.
