Halloween: The Fun of Pumpkin Carving

Halloween: The Fun of Pumpkin CarvingHalloween is just a few days away now and the festivities will be ending. Every year our grand daughter looks forward to pumpkin carving, decorating, corn mazes, visiting the pumpkin patch, hayrides and of course going Trick-or-Treating. Fall is such a fun season for all of the little ones!

For my “Almost” Wordless Wednesday post this week I wanted to share a photo with all of you of the Princess doing her pumpkin carving and decorating. As you can see…she was really concentrating hard on her design and that jack-o-lantern got her full attention! She really got into it this year and there was no stopping her until she was done!!!

Now that Mr. Jack is completely done…he is sitting proudly on their front porch and is waiting to greet all of the little Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween night! Yay…I think she did a great job!

If you want to get into pumpkin carving this Halloween it’s important that you buy the right tools. Plus, having the right tools will help you and your family STAY SAFE during your pumpkin carving activity.

Although I did not carve a pumpkin this year when I do I prefer the traditional faces. Your photo really shows how hard your granddaughter was concentrating on carving her pumpkin.

  2. Sweet! I really like the good old traditional pumpkin faces; the new intricate designs are way over the top, in my humble opinion. I might buy a pie pumpkin this weekend, but we didn’t get any for decorations this year. Anyway, thanks for sharing your cutie and her pumpkin.

  3. She looks like this is what she has to do. Concentration to the max.

  4. We are carving pumpkins tonight! We have five of them! We will definitely carve three of them and maybe save 2 of them for decoration! Happy Halloween!!

We build a pumpkin totem pole as decoration every year and have to get five pumpkins carved. It is always fun and we make an event out of it.

Aww, I remember carving pumpkins as a kid! Loved it, too. Of course, drawing/painting on them is fun, too.

  7. I used to love doing this as a child oh and I also liked it when we would bake the pumpkin seeds.
