On April 29th, 2019 we rescued and adopted our handsome boy Tucker Carlson. If you’re new to our blog you will want to check out our rescue and adoption story HERE. It wasn’t your typical rescue and adoption!!!
Back in late May of 2019 we updated our blog readers with an additional post on how the adoption was going. You can find that post HERE. I admit, being “cat parents” has been a total learning experience for us and one that has brought us great joy!
Today, August 29th, 2019 we celebrate for two reasons:
1. The vet estimated that he would be turning 3 years old during the month of August. We picked the 29th to celebrate his birthday since we adopted him on the 29th of April.
2. Today marks 4 full months that Tucker has been living with us.
The past 4 months have been challenging, but yet wonderful. Tucker had some medical issues that needed to be addressed & treated for the first 2 1/2 months that we had him and I’m happy to report that they’re finally have all been resolved. He’s doing fantastic medically!!! Yes, it was expensive to rescue and adopt him but the money we put out was well worth it. He gives us unconditional love and brings joy into our lives.
As of today he has gained 3 1/2 lbs. and is now chunky LOL. He was a little under-weight when we rescued him. We have been slowly weaning down his feedings which has been difficult. He will eat 20 times a day if we left him!
One thing that has really helped us and “him” adjust to everything was putting him on a schedule. We get up at approximately the same time every day. Feedings, play time, relaxing time, etc. are all at about the same time every day. He reminds me of a toddler and likes to have a morning and afternoon nap at the same time every day or he gets cranky. We have scheduled play time and enrichment time. We keep him physically and mentally busy. Yes, he has us wrapped around his little paws and yes, we spoil him. We love him!!!
Happy Birthday to Tucker Carlson who turned 3 years old today!!!
He is a very cute cat. You have been taking such good care of him. You are right in saying tht he is just like a toddler!
He is a very handsome cat and I am so glad that he found the perfect home for him. Our cats like their schedule to and are very talkative so let us know when it is time for food or play.
Happy Birthday to you Tucker! I know Shelly spoiled you like crazy!
Yay Tucker! That is one lucky cat. I’m so happy he’s well now. He’s a special kitty, for sure.
Tucker Carlson is just an adorable cat and I am so happy you rescued him! We rescued our kitty also and it is the best feeling! She gives us lots of laughs and joy also! Many years of Happiness to you with Tucker!
What a happy cat! I’m very sad right now because my best friend is having to put her cat down tomorrow. She’s had him almost 20 years and has been fading away the last couple of weeks.
Happy birthday Tucker! He looks so happy and healthy. What a wonderful thing you did. I smother love my pets every single day they are lovely in every way.
