Cook with Confidence with Thermapen for Quick and Accurate Food Temperatures

Summer is in full swing and that means an abundance of outdoor activities and outdoor cooking. We love to cook whether it’s indoor or outdoor cooking, but in the summer there is nothing better than steak and vegetables on the grill. Of course, we want our steaks to be cooked to perfection, so being able to ensure the temperature of the meat is accurate is a no brainer. I received a Thermapen Mk4 cooking thermometer a few weeks ago and I can’t imagine cooking without it!

The Thermapen Mk4 is handmade by Utah-based company ThermoWorks and is faster and more accurate than any other cooking thermometer on the market. I have seen similar products out there and tried some of the others, but this one is the real deal. This product will give you speed and precision when cooking everything from meats, fish, sauces, and deep-fried foods to breads, cake and even candy. You can also use it for chilled items to ensure the temperature is just where you want it. I decided to try it out on a glass of chardonnay. I keep my bottles in a temperature controlled wine fridge and the first glass I poured had temperature reading of 53 degrees, which is perfect. Chardonnay is supposed to be served at 47 to 60 degrees. This little gadget confirmed that my wine is just right!

Here are some of the features that I really like about this product:

• Fast readings – the readings on the Thermapen only take about 2 to 3 seconds and there’s an Intelligent Backlight if you are cooking in a dimly lit area, which activates in low light automatically.
• Intuitive display – the display on the Thermapen has an auto-rotating feature and depending on what direction you are holding the device, it will turn to ensure it’s easily readable. .
• Sleep mode – another great feature is the sleep mode, which activates when you set the product down or close the probe. This saves battery power, which is always a good thing.
• Battery life – speaking of battery life, this product has a 3,000 hour battery life with the included AAA battery.
