Our Thoughts: I’m the mother to a 9 1/2 year old girl and a 3 1/2 year old boy. We try to have family movie night every other weekend. Most of the time the movies we watch are animated, so that our youngest child will watch & enjoy them too. This time around we waited until he went to bed and enjoy this movie with our 9 1/2 year old daughter as part of our family movie night.

This is a heart-tugging and engaging story. The characters draw you in and you’re cheering them on every step of the way. From start to finish this movie is entertaining and is unlike other movies that are out in the retail marketplace. The acting is fantastic and its a beautifully written fantasy-type of adventure.

As an adult I enjoyed watching the movie with my daughter. She thoroughly enjoyed it too and re-watched the movie the following day with her best friend during a sleepover. Both girls loved it. Its really nice to finally find a nice “non-animated” movie for her to enjoy. She’s getting to the age now that she finds a lot of them boring, so this flick was right up her “tween-age” alley.

We never share spoilers here on the blog, so you’ll have to go out and buy it to see how it ends. Let’s just say that it all ends on a positive note! On our movie rating scale we’re giving this one 7 1/2 popcorn buckets out of 10 popcorn buckets. A nice film to add to your family video collection. Looking to buy? It’s available on Amazon for a really great price!!!
