Kenneth Branagh directs and leads an all-star cast, including Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Penélope Cruz, Judi Dench and Leslie Odom, Jr., in this stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mystery based on the best-selling novel by Agatha Christie. Everyone’s a suspect when a murder is committed on a lavish train ride, and a brilliant detective must race against time to solve the puzzle before the killer strikes again.

MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS is a timeless classic that “will keep audiences guessing” (Peter Debruge, Variety).

Produced by Branagh along with Ridley Scott (Alien: Covenant), Simon Kinberg (Logan), Mark Gordon (Molly’s Game), Judy Hofflund (As You Like It) and Michael Schaefer (The Martian), MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS is loaded with bonus material that dives into the making of the film including an eight-part documentary, eleven deleted scenes, commentary by Branagh and much more.

My Thoughts: I’m a huge fan of Ridley Scott and his movies. I first discovered him after seeing the hit movie Blackhawk Down (one of my favorite movies EVER). He’s one of the best movie producers in Hollywood, at least in my honest opinion.

I was really excited to sit down and watch this modern-day version of the classic, Murder on the Orient Express. Let’s start with the actors and the characters that they played. I thought they all did a great job, except for Johnny Depp. I am NOT a Depp fan and I really feel that they could of found a better actor to play that character. Just being honest. Other than that, I thought the rest of them did a fantastic job.

From start to finish…I thought it was a pretty good movie. It held my attention and had plenty of mystery and suspense to keep you entertained. If you enjoyed the original Murder on the Orient Express movie, I think you would really enjoy this modern-day upgrade. On my movie rating scale, I’m giving it 7 popcorn buckets out of 10 popcorn buckets.
