Time for another Fun Frugal Finds update! Earlier this month my husband and I took the 1 hour and 15 minute drive down to a very cool indoor & outdoor flea market and farmer’s market in Ephrata Pennsylvania called The Green Dragon. It’s located in Lancaster County and is a bunch of things all located on one big property. It’s an auction house, farmer’s market, flea market, craft store, etc. They have 100’s of different mom & pop owned little stores and vendors on their property. You’ll find several little butcher shops, country craft stores, furniture makers, candle shops, boutique clothing vendors, all kinds of food and things like that! Admission and parking is free.
We try to get down to Green Dragon twice a year…once in the late Spring and one in the Fall, when the weather is cooler. They are only open on Fridays, so we only go when Hubby has off work and he had off on Veteran’s Day, so we took a 3-day weekend trip down to Lancaster county.
I love shopping at Flea Markets and this time around I did pretty good! They have a new vendor who sells gorgeous scarves at heavily discounted prices and all of them are first quality and brand new! I love scarves and so does my daughter and granddaughter, so I decided to get both of them a new scarf for Christmas.
BOTH of these plaid scarves are made out of 100% cashmere and are impeccably made. They are super-soft and just gorgeous! If you’ve ever priced high-end cashmere scarves, you know they can be expensive. Well, this vendor had them in 100’s of different colors, sizes and patterns for $5.00 each or two for $9.00. So, I got the pink plaid one for the Princess and the ivory plaid one for my daughter. Can’t beat $4.50 each for a cashmere scarf!!! Wow, what a deal! I should of picked up more & tucked them away for gifts.
I decided to treat myself too! I got a faux-fur endless scarf from that same vendor for only $5.00. My new faux-fur scarf looks fabulous with my new winter coat and I love how soft it feels. Shucks, I should of gotten more of those too for that price! I absolutely LOVE my new five dollar scarf!
So, what kind of fun frugal finds, clearance or bargain deals have you found lately? If you found any, were they for yourself, your home or did you pick up the item(s) to give as holiday gifts? Where’s your favorite place to shop when it comes to finding big deals & bargains?
These are amazing finds .I did not have much time to look for special buys. but I found a wonderful very large bath mat for only $11.
As usual, you done good! I haven’t been doing much shopping at all lately. I’ve been trying not to spend any money unnecessarily, and I find the best way to do that is to stay the heck out of the stores. My favorite places for bargains are a local surplus and salvage store, Goodwill, and my little town’s thrift store.
I really love cashmere. It is soft, warm and snuggly and really makes for a great scarf. I like the patterns you found. I personally havent found many bargains. I guess more than anything I have missed them. I did fet a new coat for hubby, it is a Levi brand for 100 off. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift only he took it out and wore it!
This was a major score! I love scarfs and I think I almost have one in every color now. I also love to give them for the holidays to my mother and girl friends.
I love those scarves. I got my niece a similar one in teal for her Christmas stocking!
I love scarves and think that you sure got good deals on Cashmere scarves. I really like the designs and colors of these scarves! They make great Holiday gifts.
These sound amazing and would make perfect Christmas gifts for my sisters. I’d really like one for myself too!
I would love to have a scarf like that! These sound so soft! They really do make a great gift idea, too!
I love scarves and have so many. I even wore one today since it’s cold here in LA, with the storm over last weekend. Some of the places I found great deals aren’t around anymore, but a lot of times it’s closeouts of nice quality things that I go for. With all the deals today, I didn’t really have a thing I wanted to get so I didn’t partake in Cyber Monday frenzy.
I love to shop at thrift store and flea markets for my frugal finds. Scarves are a great thing to stock up on this season…you never know when you are going to need a gift!
