Kid’s Craft Project – Easy Halloween Masks from Craft Foam

Yoobi Safari Mask Kid's Craft KitEvery year when Halloween rolls around I love decorating my home to get ready for Trick or Treat night. One of the things I really look forward to seeing is all of the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes. When it comes to costumes, I love seeing the homemade ones & the creative ones that people make themselves.

For this crafting with kids feature, we received a kid’s craft kit from Yoobi to make some really cool DIY Safari Masks from craft foam. These kits include everything you need: pre-cut craft foam pieces, glue dots (adhesive) and the elastic cords. The kit makes 5 animal masks which can be used for play time and/or Halloween.

One of the things I absolutely love about this craft kit from Yoobi is that everything is included. Second, each animal mask only took 4-5 minutes to complete and we had all 5 of them completed within 30 minutes. This is a great scouting craft, school craft or just a quick craft to do with your kids when you’re short on time. Plus, you get 5 masks in the kit, so it’s perfect for multi-child families too.

In our specific DIY Mask Kit we had 5 different animals to make. A zebra, hippo, elephant, tiger and giraffe. The Princess really loved the zebra and tiger ones the best, but personally I thought all 5 of them were adorable!

This is a non-messy craft project, so you don’t need to put anything down on your work surface. All of the animal masks are pre-cut, along with their facial features. You simply use the included glue dot adhesive and put the facial features on each animal mask, by following the photograph on the package. There is no glue drying time, since your using glue dots. Once you have that completed, you simply tie a knot onto the end of the pre-cut elastic cord, thread it through the hole on the side of the mask, thread the other end through the other hole and make another knot. You’re done!

  1. The masks are cute but not nearly as cute as your little model. Adorable! I’m sure you two had a great time together making the masks. 🙂

I like how colorful these masks are and how easy they go together. I am really impressed they work with the Kids In Need Foundation . Having worked in schools, I know for fact teachers often pay for supplies and it sure adds up, but you cant not buy for the kids if they need it. These masks too look very safe- lightweight and the eyeholes are big enough and the mouth isnt covered.

I love how cute these masks are and how easy they are to make. My favorites are the tiger and giraffe masks. I also appreciate that Yoobi donates to schools.

  5. Those are very cute and easy to make. I like that the kits have everything you need in them.
