In early September I surprised my wife with a 4 day, 3 night mini vacation down to the beach in North Wildwood, New Jersey. We’ve been going there multiple times a year for the past 26 years! It’s our happy place and over the decades we’ve built a lot of family memories down there.
A lot of people on the east coast are familiar with Wildwood and while Wildwood is nice…North Wildwood is even better! It’s a different vibe on the northside of the island. More calm and relaxed. Removed from the loud and busy boardwalk. A great place to spend some time to reconnect and to relax.
We had one day with stormy weather but the rest of the days we had beautiful weather. Hot into the 80’s and humid. We sat on the beach two different days (it was crowded) and really enjoyed being out in the sunshine getting fresh air. After the beach we would spend about an hour in the hotel pool. A great way to get the sand off you!

While we were down there we ate all of our meals OUT! No cooking, no cleaning up! We did things at our own pace and guess what? We unplugged! We didn’t touch our computers and ipads. We did use our phones to take photographs and to take a few calls, but it was nice to unplug for 4 days!
Now that I’m getting ready to retire at the end of the year we’ll be traveling more! There’s a lot to see and do in our beautiful country…the U.S.A.
