Last month I decided to update the curtains aka window treatments in our kitchen. We have an older home so often times our windows are the classic sizes that you find with newer homes. Anyway, in our kitchen I have to use cafe style curtains to get them to fit over the 2 windows so that they look nice. I decorate in a coastal and beach style, it can be difficult in finding window treatments that I personally like.

After spending 2 months looking around in the retail stores in our area and finding nothing that suited…I decided to shop on Amazon. I purchased these beautiful Seashells and Starfish Coastal Kitchen Curtains. Each set comes with 3 pieces…the valance and 2 panels, so I needed to purchase 2 complete sets. They’re available in additional colors and patterns too!
Once I received them I was really impressed with the quality. They’re nicely made! You don’t need any hooks…they slide onto a standard curtain rod. I was able to easily hang them up myself. I really appreciate that we still get our privacy at those two windows (they’re side by side) while letting the sunshine come in. The window faces east…so I get a decent amount of sunlight ever day which helps to brighten up our kitchen.
The color scheme that I picked out is the teal, blue and green print on a white background. When I say white…it’s NOT an optic or stark white. It’s an easy shade of white that is easy on the eyes. The fabrication is really nice and they’re wrinkle resistant. Yay, no ironing! You can launder them in your washing machine on the delicate cycle and hang to air dry. You could hand wash them if you preferred, but I got great results washing them on the delicate cycle.
One quick way that you can update any room in your home is by changing out your window treatments. Just by hanging up new curtains and changing out a few kitchen linens…it looks like our kitchen had a great makeover bringing it more in line with modern times. As an added bonus, these new coastal beach window curtains were affordable, so they didn’t cost me an arm and a leg! A win-win for me!
