We use our barbecue grill at least 3 times a week from early spring through late fall. During the summer months we like to toss corn on the cob onto the grill at least once a week. Corn…it’s one of my family’s favorite vegetables…especially when it was cooked on the grill. With that said, it can be prepared and cooked several different ways.

1. Remove the husk. Season with a little butter, salt and ground black pepper. Wrap the ear of corn in aluminum foil and place directly on the rack or near the coals if you’re using charcoal. It should take 10-12 minutes of cooking time.
2. You can toss it with the husk on directly onto the grill rack. You will need to watch it closely because sometimes the “silk” from the husk can catch on fire. Not a big fire or anything like that…but silk does tend to burn. I find that cooking in the husk takes a little longer cooking time…14-15 minutes.
3. Remove the husk. Season the corn with a little salt and ground black pepper. Spritz the rack with a little bit of vegetable or olive oil to help prevent sticking. Place onto the rack of a hot grill, turning it every 2-3 minutes using tongs until it’s done. It will typically take 10-14 minutes depending on the size. Remove. Immediately slather the ears with butter. You can then check out some of the variations below for additional seasoning ideas.
Variations:
Instead of seasoning the ears with regular butter….you can season them with a flavored honey, honey butter or sour cream. Instead of regular table salt…try Pink Himalayan Sea Salt. You can sprinkle on a variety of dried spices like ground paprika, curry, chili powder, Mrs. Dash, etc. Whatever type of seasoning you enjoy.
