A friend of mine owns a beautiful oceanfront motel down at the Jersey Shore. Every year we go down 2-3 times to visit with her and always have a great time. Anyway, for the past few years I had been admiring some of the artwork she had in the motel lobby, one particular oil painting in particular had caught my eye. Well guess what? She gave it to me last month to bring home with me!
As soon as we got home I hung it up in our formal living room. A few days later a little package arrived of fairy lights that I had won off the internet. There were 4 packages of mini fairy lights that have some cool features including a 4 hour timer. I had hubby take the oil painting down and I taped the mini fairy lights to the back side of the painting in the “light colored areas” so that you could see the light glowing through. Oh my gosh…what a great idea! I absolutely love it! Where you see the yellow and peach colors that’s where the fairy lights are. At night they pop on and stay lit for 4 hours which gives a nice glow in our living room when the overhead lights are turned off.
Last month was my birthday too! I got several birthday greeting cards in the mail and a good friend took me out for lunch. Hubby took me out for a steak dinner on my birthday which was really nice too!
