We have a 6 year old indoor cat named Romeo. Our boy used to be a very active cat until a year ago when he slowed down. Let’s face it, we all slow down as we age. Now that he’s older…we wanted to get him something more stimulating and something he could use to get exercise especially when it’s cold and/or wet outside. After doing some online research we decided to purchase a 5-in-1 Indoor Cat Exercise Wheel Treadmill from Amazon. We selected a cat exercise treadmill that was loaded with features and large in size. Our boy is a BIG kitty! Cats can run on the running wheel, climb the shelves or crawl into the little cat cave on the bottom to take a snooze. This particular model comes with a little feeding station including the metal bowls. If you’re worried about noise when your cat is running, don’t be. It’s fairly quiet and won’t drive you nuts.
It’s made out of natural wood with a natural-colored finish. It comes with an instruction booklet….and only took me about 10 minutes to assemble with a screwdriver. You don’t need fancy tools. This particular model stands about 41″ high. It does take up some space in whatever room you place it. We spend a lot of time in our family room, so that’s where Romeo’s running wheel treadmill is currently set up.
For the past 3 months our cat has been exploring his new running wheel. He doesn’t run on it as often as I would like, but he does use it. He really enjoys climbing up the shelves (stairs) and perching on the top of it to take a nap. Got a window? I would place it in front of a window so your kitties can crawl up to the top and see outside. Our boy enjoys watching the birds in our backyard.
