Have you ever had a severe burn? Well, I have. Last month I got 2nd degree burns all over the left side of my torso and across my lower back from a heating pad. Yes, a heating pad. I was using a heating pad to help ease some back pain that I was having. I went to bed with it set on the low setting with an auto-shutoff at 2 hours. This was a name brand, 3 month old heating pad.

I must of gotten into a deep sleep because when I woke up 2 hours later I felt like my skin was on fire. I got out of bed to take a look….I had severe redness on my side and back…with blisters already starting to form. The pain from the burns was 100% worse than the back pain I was trying to treat. Oh my gosh…terrible pain! I self-treated throughout the night with moist, damp cloths to help soothe it. By morning, I knew I needed to seek medical attention and relief.
Luckily my primary doctor was available and told me to come right in. After looking at the areas she confirmed that I had 2nd degree burns. She told me that I did the right thing to use a damp cloth to help soothe the areas for the initial treatment along with some Aloe Vera Gel that I had on-hand for sunburns. She then told me that she recommends that I get Manuka Honey for Wound Care and Burns from Amazon. Say what? Yeah, she said Amazon. Why? Because she already knew that our local pharmacies don’t carry it.
As soon as I got home I ordered the Manuka Honey for Wound Care and Burns from Amazon. It came the following day. It’s a natural way to treat burns, cuts, ulcers, infections, minor to moderate wounds, scars, etc. It contains New Zealand Active Manuka Honey (MGO 850+) and sterilized Aloe Vera. This particular Manuka Honey won’t crystallize or harden over time…so you can take your time using it.
You want to gently wash the area with water or saline. Let dry. Apply a light layer of the Manuka Honey. Cover with a non-stick bandage and repeat twice daily according the package directions. My personal primary care doctor directed me to use it four times a day. Get your physician permission first if you’re increasing the applications.
WARNING ON THE PACKAGE – Do not use the product if you’re allergic to bee venom (bee stings) or bee products. Don’t use on children under the age of two. It’s for topical application only.
I started using the Manuka Honey immediately as instructed by my primary care physician. I can honestly tell you it brought me relief after 2 applications. It worked 100% better than just using Aloe Vera alone. I liked that it was easy to apply, has no foul odors and is a natural product that you can use. It took a good week or so for the redness and blisters to subside and then a few days of skin peeling followed. With that said, I have no scarring which really impressed me.

The Manuka Honey for Wound Care and Burns will be a staple product in my medicine cabinet from now on. Matter of fact, I purchased two more containers, one for my daughter’s house and one for my mother’s house. You can use it to treat all kinds of minor ailments and do so…the natural way. What’s really cool is that you can also buy Honey Gauze Wound Dressing from Amazon too. The no-mess, no-fuss way to treat your wounds or burns.
