I love using fragranced candles around our home. However, I can’t have them lit the majority of the time. We have pets that live here, small children that visit often and I suffer with epilepsy, a seizure disorder. Candles are big fire hazard for families like us. I love the ambiance lighting and fragrance…but won’t risk an accident happening for it.

Instead of burning candles….I use Candle Warmer Lamps around our home. We have one in our master bedroom, one in our family room and another in a guest room. They run on electricity, so you’ll need to plug them in. You use them with your favorite scented jar candles….any brand that you like. They’re the perfect way to add fragrance throughout your home without actually burning a wax candle!
The one that you see in my photograph I purchased from Amazon. They have a wide variety of candle warmer lamps that you can check out. When shopping for one…look for the styles that are adjustable…this way you can use just about any size of jar candle with it. You can raise the arm up higher and lower it. Most of them come along with the light bulb which heats up and melts the wax inside your jar candle which releases the fragrance.
Here’s a few personal tips:
* I like to put a fabric pad underneath the warmer lamp. This will help to catch any melted wax you may spill.
* To keep your warmer lamp looking nice…clean it once or twice a month. I dust the glass shade and wipe down the rest of it. Dust and grime can build up on it. Just add it to your regular cleaning routine.
* If your bulb blows out…let it completely cool down before changing it out. I recommend having 2-3 spare bulbs on hand. Mine last a good 6-9 months before I need to change it out and I run mine several hours a day.
I think the Candle Warmer Lamps are the perfect gift to give and/or receive. They’re less of a fire hazard compared to a traditional candle! You can still fragrance/scent your room or home when using them. I found after using them that I now prefer the glow from the light bulb to the flicker of a wick. The glow is more calming to me.
