Making your own dry rubs at home is more cost effective than buying them at the store. On top of that, you’re controling the ingredients that go into the rub. You can make the rub sweet, savory or with a lot of heat. That’s entirely up to you! When we make pork chops I like to use this quick and easy dry rub recipe. You only need a few basic ingredients to make it.

Classic Dry Rub Recipe for Pork Chops
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1-2 tsp. Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4-1/2 tsp. dried paprika
(optional) If you like a garlic flavoring…add-in a 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. garlic powder.
Mix the spices together in a small bowl until combined. Rub onto all sides of the pork chop. You may need to double-up the recipe depending on how many pork chops you’re making and how much rub you want on each one. The heavier you apply the rub…the more flavoring you’ll have.
You can bake in the oven, fry them in a skillet or toss them onto a hot grill. Cook until done. You always want to check for doneness by using a digital meat thermometer. Once done…remove and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
