When vacuum sealers first came out into the marketplace they were expensive and didn’t always work correctly. Fast forward a decade and you can now find them at a wide variety of price points with all kinds of different features. Three years ago I started vacuum sealing all our meats and fish that we place into the freezer. You don’t need the most expensive model to get great results…nor do you want to shop for the cheapest. Go middle road in regards to pricing when purchasing a Vacuum Sealer.

Here’s some of the reasons why I started vacuum sealing our meats:
* Prevents Freezer Burn
* Helps to Maintain Texture and Flavor
* Saves on Valuable Freezer Space
* Keeps Freezer Foods More Organized
* Helps Keep Out Bacteria and Odors
* Freeze in Proper Proportions for Easy Meal Prep
* Save Money – Buy in Bulk and On Sale

The biggest investment you make is the vacuum sealing machine itself. Then you’ll need to invest in the bags. Some models will allow you to seal food items in jars and containers. We use just the bags….because I home can all our vegetables, fruits, sauces and condiments. If you’re interested in home canning, you’ll find over 60 recipes and how-to’s on the TwoClassyChics blog.
When it comes to the bags…you can purchase one-time use or reusable bags depending on your budget and your needs. You can find both options available on Amazon. Another great thing to consider buying is the bags that allow you to cook in them. Great for boiling, steaming and microwaving certain foods. These days…you can purchase all kinds of cool accessories.
I recommend starting small and then you can increase your supplies as you go along. You’ll find your own routine that will work for you. The more you do it…the easier it is and the benefits will pay off! Curious at which one that I personally own and use? I use the BlitzHome Vacuum Sealing Machine that I purchased from Amazon.
