Fairy Lights with Timer for Mason Jars and Craft Projects

February 13, 2026 by Classystaff Leave a Comment

Last month I started working on some new craft projects and needed some fairy lights to complete them. With that said, I wanted fairy lights that feature a timer. Wow…I can easily find fairy lights but it was harder to find them with a timer function. On top of that….I needed the battery box to be small enough to fit down into glass jars, vases and other things. I like using a variety of colors too…like cool white, warm white, multi, blue, pastel, etc.

I couldn’t find what I needed in our local stores so I ended up buying them from Amazon. Amazon always has everything we need these days! I purchased the Litogo 6 Pack of Fairy Lights with a Timer. These are battery operated fairy lights (come with the batteries) and the batteries are replaceable. They include a little screwdriver so that in the future you can remove the old ones and replace with new ones. Cool.

The timer feature is automatic….6 hours on with 18 hours off. Of course if you don’t want to use the timer feature you can just manually turn them on and off. There are 3 lighting modes: twinkle, fade and steady. The lights themselves are waterproof but the battery box isn’t. Keep that in mind when using them in your arts and craft projects. The little lights don’t get hot, so you don’t have to worry about kids and pets touching them.

For my first project…I purchased some inexpensive faux mercury glass mason jars. I like using them as little night lights around our home…especially during the holidays or when guests are in town. I can easily place the battery box and lights down into the pint size mason jar. I really love how they look at night…especially on the “steady” feature.

You can use these battery operated fairy lights in all kinds of projects. Here’s a few ideas to get you started:

* vases, jars, under cloches, in glass bowls, etc.
* strung around artwork on the wall
* to line shelving and bookcases
* tossed into small wicker baskets
* decorate mini faux Christmas trees
* decorate small wreaths
* string them through your garlands
* strung through a chandelier
* to accent small windows
* hung around small mirrors
* decorate a dollhouse
* accent table centerpieces
* wedding and party decor

There’s all kinds of different ways you can use them!!!

Looking to buy? Head on over to Amazon! They have a large variety of different fairy lights available. I recommend that you get ones with a timer feature and replaceable batteries. I also recommend looking for the type’s that have small battery packs, that way you can use them for a wider variety of different things!!!
