The grandchildren were visiting and wanted to make some homemade chocolate caramel peanut butter cups. For this recipe, we really don’t use any specific measurements. You only need 3 ingredients to make them along with some paper muffin cup liners. These are no-bake…made entirely by using the microwave so older kids can definitely help to make them. While our photos aren’t pretty…the 10 and 15 year old had a great time making them!

Here’s the ingredients that you’ll need:
Creamy Peanut Butter
Bag of Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate Morsels (chocolate chips)
Squeeze Bottle of Caramel Sauce
Note: Do NOT use imitation or chocolate-flavored chips….you want to use REAL chocolate chips so that they melt properly in the microwave.

Fill a muffin pan with paper muffin liners. Set aside.
Place chocolate chips (about 1 cup at a time) in a glass measuring cup. Microwave at 20 second intervals, stirring in between until all of the chocolate has melted. It needs to be smooth and creamy. Use a spoon to spoon it into a line muffin cup…filling about 1/4″ in depth. You don’t need a lot…just enough to cover the entire buttom of the cup. Let it sit for about 2-4 minutes so that the chocolate starts cooling.
Spoon creamy peanut butter into the cups next. We like to add a good tablespoon, maybe a little more. Use the back of the spoon to spread the peanut butter across the chocolate. Next…squeeze about a teaspoon of the caramel sauce on top of the peanut butter.
To finish up….melt another cup of chocolate chips in the microwave oven (using the process in step one listed above). Pour that melted chocolate over-the-top of the caramel sauce. If needed, melt additional chocolate chips until you get them all filled and done.
Let them sit for an hour or so to firm up. If you want to speed that up…you can place the tray into the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes. Remove. Store the homemade chocolate caramel peanut butter cups in an airtight container.
