Be A Good Neighbor Please Clean Up After Your Dog

February 23, 2026 by Sam H.

We live in a neighborhood where many of our neighbor’s have dogs. We personally have an indoor cat, so no dogs on our property. With that said, we have several neighbors who are very disrespectful when it comes to keeping their dogs contained on their property and we’re sick of it! We don’t want their dogs in our yard for any reason!!!

First….we have an indoor cat who has an outdoor Catio attached to our sunroom. He likes to spend time outside and in it. We can’t have dogs running up to his Catio and scaring him to death. He’s not used to dogs nor does he like them. The majority of the dogs that are coming into our yard are medium and large sized dogs.

Second…we’re timed of the dog poop in our front and back yards! Why are we cleaning up poop from dogs that aren’t ours??? Seriously????? We have put 2 signs in our front yard stating no letting your dogs poop in our yard and guess what? It hasn’t made a difference! When people are walking their dogs they still let them take a poop in our yard and they don’t clean it up. Never. When their dogs are running off-leash…they’re pooping in our back yard too.

As a dog owner or a pet owner in general…it’s YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to take care of your pet! That includes cleaning up any poop that they do in a neighbor’s yard! That includes in keeping them leashed and in YOUR YARD, not letting them run into my yard. Neighbors who act like this have no respect for their fellow neighbors in the neighborhood. This disrespect causes hard feelings among everyone. Do your part as a pet owner and take care of ALL of your pet’s needs, including cleaning up their poop!
