A few weeks ago I published my friend Kelly’s homemade applesauce cake recipe which was a huge hit on the blog. When I posted the recipe I stated you could frost it with cream cheese, buttercream or vanilla frosting. Well, we got several requests to please post Kelly’s quick and easy recipe to make homemade cream cheese frosting. The one she used to frost the cake. As always…you want to use pure vanilla extract…not immitation vanilla!

Quick and Easy Homemade Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe
8 oz. block cream cheese, softened
6 Tbsp. butter, softened
3 cups Confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar)
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Combine the above ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix on the low speed until everything is combined together. Turn the speed up to high and beat until the frosting is creamy and fluffy. Spread immediately onto your cake or cupcakes.
