How to Make Your Own Aloe Vera Gel at Home

January 9, 2026 by Classystaff

I’ve been growing Aloe Vera plants in my home for the past 25+ years. Aloe is one of the easiest houseplants to grow. It doesn’t need a lot of water or attention. Just make sure it’s planted in a soil that is made specifically for succulent plants. Give it water on a regular basis and place it in in-direct sunlight for the best results. My Aloe plants grow like crazy and I’m always giving them away to family and friends.

Aloe is one of nature’s best anti-bacterial agents. You can use the gel from an Aloe plant to treat minor burns, sunburn, acne breakouts, as an anti-septic to clean minor cuts and abrasions, to help fight wrinkles, under-eye dark circles and bags, it helps to moisturize dry skin, etc. There’s tons of different uses for Aloe Vera gel.

You can easily make your own Aloe Vera Gel at home by simply following the directions on WikiHow. They have great instructions along with step-by-step photographs on how to make it…along with great ideas on how to store and use it. Every home should have a few Aloe houseplants along with some prepared Aloe Vera gel on-hand. It’s one of the best natural remedies you can have in your medicine cabinet.

When I make my own Aloe Vera gel I like to mix it with equal parts of honey and store it in small glass jars…which is one of the methods they do recommend. You can also freeze the gel for a few days too…but for longer storage, you’ll need to stabilize it with honey or Vitamin C. Head on over to their website to learn more!
