We’re fortunate that we get down to the beach multiple times every year. When we’re down at the Jersey Shore we make sure that we’re out enjoying nature and getting a lot of physical exercise. We really enjoy walking the beach (daily) and walking various nature trails that are in the area. Even though we’re older (in our 50’s and 60’s), it’s important that we get outside for some important physical activity.
With all of that said, we don’t do heavy duty stuff. We’re not athletic at our ages and have various health problems too. Some of the best physical activity you can do as you age is…walking! It’s our #1 thing to do. The second thing that we do for physical exercise is swim. We have a small pool in our backyard that we swim in during the summertime. During the colder months of the year we go to our local community center to swim 1-2 times every week.

Back in late October we were out on the beach enjoying a nice beach walk when I came across a very friendly crab. He was nice enough to pose for a photograph before I released him back along the shoreline. I also took the time to surprise my wife with a handwritten message in the sand. Can you see what it says? Yes…she was surprised!
