We enjoy taking road trips all across America. One of our favorite things to do is to drive through small towns. Sure…getting from point A to point B takes longer when you get off a major highway…but there’s so much more to see when driving across America. Heck, you don’t have to drive far to visit a small town!
While on a weekend road trip through Pennsylvania we drove through Elizabethtown. It’s one of those classic small towns with a downtown business district with locally-owned mom and pop shops. One thing that we really enjoy seeing as we drive through these type’s of towns is how they honor their hometown heroes. Look up….you’ll see those hometown hero banners as your driving through. It’s a great way to honor those men and women from their own community.

Here’s one where they’re honoring Ray D. Good from the U.S. Army. I can’t make out the date on the photo. What a handsome gentlemen he was! We enjoy honoring all of the men and women who served our great country!
Personally, I would love to see more and more towns and cities honoring their hometown hereos like this! It’s nice to see the banners when we’re passing through. I’m sure their family and friends appreciate it too.
