Christmas Holiday Ritz Cracker Candy Recipe

December 30, 2025 by Classystaff

Every year my I make 2-3 batches of the Ritz Crackers Christmas Crack Candy. Over the decades I’ve seen it made various different ways and called by several different names. You ONLY need 4 basic ingredients to make this recipes. I make these year-round and just change-up the color and type of toppings that I’m using. In the springtime I use pastel colored sprinkles and sugar. When I make them during the summertime I like to use red, white and blue! My 2 grandchildren helped to make this batch, so they’re not the prettiest but they sure do taste good!

Ritz Crackers
Stick of Butter
Brown Sugar
Bag of Chocolate Chips
Colored Sugar & Sprinkles (optional)

Take a little bit of butter and grease the muffin pan. Next, place a round Ritz cracker into each cavitity in the pan. Take a butter knife and slice off a thin pat of butter from the stick. You only need a thin slice of butter. Place that pat on top of the Ritz cracker. Sprinkle about a teaspoon of brown sugar on top of the butter.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place the muffin pan into the preheated oven. Bake for 4-6 minutes or until the butter has completely melted and started to turn a golden brown on top. Remove from the oven.

While the pan is in the oven melt 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave oven. Microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring in between. It should be melted, smooth and creamy.

Pour the melted chocolate into the muffin pan to cover the cracker, butter and sugar that’s underneath. You can use the back side of a spoon to smooth it out.  Let cool. If you want to speed up the cooling aka firming-up process you can place it into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Optional: You can add colored sugar, cookie sprinkles, finely chopped nuts, coconut flakes, mini M&M’s and other type’s of little goodies on top while the chocolte is still soft and melted.

Store the Christmas Crack Candy in an airtight container.
