Earlier this month I headed to one of our local thrift stores called Community Aid. They have 7 or 8 locations around Pennsylvania. They’re one of our nicest thrift stores in the entire state. In their Harrisburg store they keep it nice, clean and organized. Their staff is always helpful and happy to assist when needed. Plus, they have their own BIG parking lot…no fighting for parking there!

On this particular thrift trip I was shopping for holiday home decor and accessories. I decorate our home in a coastal beach style, so I’m always looking for home decor that will work with our particular style. Not the typical red, green, gold and silver that you find during the holiday season. Nope…I’m all about seaglass, blues, mint and silver. So, here’s what I found during that particular shopping trip.
2 medium sized storage baskets. The lighter colored one came with a removable cotton liner. I love baskets like this for organizing things around our home. Great size and BOTH looked just like new! Less than $5 each.
Farbeware metal Christmas cookie cutters…new in the package for $3.00
2 mint, teal and silver beaded garlands (in the bag) I think I paid $6.99. I have the garlands on our Christmas tree this year!
Large plastic door wreath storage container for $6.99
Mr. Christmas ceramic light-up reindeer for $4.99 (included the battery)
New in the box Light-Up Christmas Trees made with white glittery wax. Retail price on the box was $50 but I paid $10 which I thought was a deal!!! The trees have timers too! They look beautiful lit up at night.
Set of 2 crystal tea cups/coffee mugs $1.49 each.
Strand of Christmas bulb fairy-style lights. It came with batteries too! $2.99.
Almost every time I walk into the Harrisburg Community Aid store I leave with a cart full of items! I rarely see broken stuff or junk in that particular store. I can’t speak about their other locations…but the HBG location is fantastic!
