My wife and I really enjoy taking beach walks when we’re down at the Jersey Shore. We travel down to North Wildwood 3-5 times every year and love the area. We’ve been going to North Wildwood for the past 25 years. It’s a beautiful Jersey Shore destination that holds many special memories for our family.
While were down there in October we spent 2 hours out walking the beach. Wife enjoys collecting seashells and uses many of them in her various arts & crafts projects. When we’re collecting shells we NEVER, EVER take any seashells that are currently occupied. We don’t believe in killing marine animals just to obtain a shell. That’s ridiculous and we really frown on other people who do it!!!

On this particular beach walk we collected 2 full bags of trash and miscellaneous items that we threw away. We always walk with a trash bag or two. We highly recommend that beach walkers take something along with them to pick-up trash while they’re out on the beach. We can all help to keep the beaches clean.

Onto the best finds…we did collect a large, empty Knobby Whelk Shell, a small bag of empty clam shells and while we were out walking we saw a Whelk egg casing laying up on the beach. Majority of people have no idea what those are! Always fun to tell people who are passing by what it is! It’s shown in the photograph above. They’re interesting to look at but please…don’t pick them up or disturb them.
